Gym Style Legs

Cathlete
Hi, I just finished doing Gym Style Legs for the first time and I am not too sure what I think about it yet. It really wasen't what I expected. I didn't think the standing floor work was too hard compared to some of her other routines (leaner legs, etc). But the floor work nearly killed me. I mean it was PAINFUL. It is going to take me a while to get used to it. I am looking forward to doing the others. I'm sure they will fit in nicely with my other tapes.

I keep hearing about floor work in GSL and L&G...I've got Legs and Glutes, but hae managed to talk myself out of the floor work so far! LOL! Isn't it funny, though....Most people here think that Meaner, I mean Leaner Legs is the leg workout to watch out for!

Personally I got my best results from L&G. I did it last week (I'm on the 3rd week of a comeback) and I swear my butt raises up an inch after doing it.

LL is awesome too but personally for me got the best results with L&G

Alicia, I agree. It's some of the most killer floorwork of all Cathe's leg workouts. But it hurts sooooo good!!!}(

Leaner Legs is and always probably will be the hardest one for me to do if I haven't done it in a while, because it's endurance-based and there's so little rest. So it's not my favorite because of the dread factor. For great results and that wonderful feeling of having hit it from all angles, I think personally that GS: Legs and L&G are just about dead even. And I would throw in there, too, an old favorite that fries my legs very time: Pure Strength Legs. Now there's some tough floorwork, too!

And how could I forget Pyramid Lower Body with those mean hamstring raises on the stability ball???? Yikes! ;( ;( ;(

I think Leaner Legs one of her hardest leg tapes. I also use the Pure Strength Legs. She does some floor work using the body bar (inner and outer thigh, and leg lifts) but it does not compare to Gym Style. I really found the floor section challenging. Especially the leg lifts on the ball. I was amazed how well the band worked on some of the more traditional exercises. It hit some good spots. I should be feeling it in the morning.

Leaner Legs gets me the most simply because by the time she's done, I'm a puddle on the floor, pleading, "No more! I can't take any more!"

Legs and Glutes doesn't do that to me (with the exception of the explosive lunges - don't like them), but I like L&G because I think it's a more thorough leg workout - it gets all those nooks and crannies.

I don't have GS Legs or PLB yet, but with LL and L&G I'm noticing a big difference.

I wasn't sure about GSL at first either, but have really come to love (or maybe it's a love/hate relationship:7 ha ha) it. Give it time. I think it's a super tough leg work out.

I don't have PSL (yet) and have only done LL twice. I really like L&G too.

Oh yeah, PLB. I've probably done the floorwork more than the standing. I like to put GSL and PLB floorwork together for a leg work out.

I think GSL has the best floorwork so far. On days when my knees aren't up to standing work, I put together floorwork from GSL, PLB and L&G. I also like putting togeter GSL floorwork and the leg conditioning drills from KM.

Pinky, those floorwork and floor/drill combos are a great idea! Don't know why it didn't occur to me to combine some of that stuff -- DUH! ;-)

I just came out of 7 weeks of physical therapy for my knees, and although I've been "released" to do whatever feels comfortable, I will always have to be cautious and can't do too much standing leg work without a break. Thanks for the suggestions! :)

I think GS legs is the hardest. For me much harder than LL. The first time I did it I had the worst DOMS for almost four days. I have been using the standing portion in a rotation for about four weeks and my legs have really tightened up. Last week I upped my weights on most of the exercises doing 50 lbs on regular and inner thigh squats, 10 lbs on lunges and 8 lbs on the overall burner so I really feel good about what I've accomplished in a short time.

I just love those deadlifts. Well, love in a wierd sort of way! Like I really feel my hamstrings working.

I have yet to do the floor work but I'll try it this week.

The straight legged dead-lifts were rough. I usually do the regular ones them with fifty lbs, so I lightened it up to 25 for the straight legged, just to get used to it. I felt it alot more in my lower back.

GS Legs is a toughie! The floorwork especially kills me!

Last week I combined L&G standing with GSLegs floorwork. I really enjoyed that combo.

I think GSL is Cathe's hardest leg workout. I still have trouble getting through all the floorwork without resting here and there. It's an exceptional workout.
