I don't own the MMAs yet but they would work well in this rotation!

Happy New Year...make it a GREAT one!

Hi Linda,
Thanks for posting this. I've been looking for a GS rotation to follow so this is really helpful. Gym Style is my intro to Cathe so I'm still trying to figure out how to do the workouts. I just finished a round of Chalean Extreme for 3 months. Is GS (and other Cathe series) meant to be done for a month at a time then move onto another/different one? Or can it be repeated and stretched out for 2 or 3 months?

Thanks!

Tracy

Hi Tracy,

I wouldn't say they're meant to be used in a certain way, more like your way.;).I recently read on the boards that someone used Gym Styles for 8 weeks, IIRC. I plan to follow this month with another 3 day split series Pure Strength followed by Gym Styles then Slow & Heavy, then Gym Style again, then Pure Strength again, over 5 weeks, or something like it.

The only one of those Cathe mentions using for just three weeks is Slow & Heavy (does require a lot of focus), I used it last year in a rotation for 4, I think her recommendation was/is right on, 4 weeks was a little much for me.

With the chaptering options/ Mix & Match features, Workout Blender for downloads, there is a multitude of ways you could use even just a few workouts.:)

I'll probably do something similar to what you are doing. I'll start GS and buy another series or two and alternate for about 3 mo. I've never done split programs before so it's all new to me so I hope I do it right and see results!

The thing that helped me most was keeping track of the weights I used for each workout, and adjusting the cardio portions/as well as rest days to suit. After a month or two you may see what works and doesn't, I made small weight lifting gains and major cardio gains (for me..:p...) over the past year. This year is a little more focused on strength gains.

The only other thing I do with this rotation is steady state treadmill for 20 minutes on Mon-Wed-Fri, regardless of what is on the rotation.

Let me know how it goes!
