Gym Rotation Suggestions?...Kind of Long!

Hi everyone!

I am interested in losing about 10 lbs. of body fat. But I joined a gym a few months ago so I have kind of put any videos aside for the moment...

Does anyone have any suggestions as to a rotation I can use? I can usually make it to the gym Monday through Friday, and sometimes if I am really energetic, on one weekend day (usually I take one off!).

I should mention that I am definitely PEAR SHAPED with a bubble butt. :)

I was thinking about a split rotation of legs Monday, then chest/shoulders/triceps Wed., then Back/Biceps Fri., with 30-45 mins cardio on weight training days and 45-60 cardio on non-weight days. I did get this idea from Cathe's PS Tapes, which I LOVE, but I want to use my gym membership for a while...

I guess my biggest question is: how many sets for each body part should I do? And if my lower body is my problem area, should I do legs more than 1x week?

My diet is getting cleaner every day as well!

Any gym-type rotations will be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks for listening!

Hi Jessica,
I'm only replying because I am a fellow pear with a bubble butt :). Your rotation looks good, but I would suggest doing your legs twice a week. The great part about the gym is that you can really go heavy on the weights for legs with the machines and squat rack which is one of the limitations of using the barbell at home.

The number of sets/reps you choose is probably based on what your goals are (Strength vs. endurance),but at least 3-4 exercises per body part.

Here are some other rotation ideas:
1. 30-45min cardio and 1 body part per day (legs 2x/week)with a different type of cardio each day (a la cross train express)

2. Alternate one day of Total Body strength and short cardio(20 minutes) with one day of long cardio (45-60 minutes) (So one week you would do 3 Total Body and 2 Long cardio and the next week is 3 long cardio and 2 Total Body)

Hey, just adapt what you do with your tapes for the gym. Have fun mixing it up! Take advantage of the machines to hit your muscles in different ways.

AAh...Love my tapes, but sometimes I miss the gym..

I am already replying! So if I do start out with a PS-type workout, how would you work in doing legs 2x week? :)

Always open for any suggestions!
