GS vs PS

Hi Educated crowd,
Just question about what everyone prefers. I'm looking to shake things up, i'm not interested in gaining bulk, but am looking at a rotation with 2 parts per day. Which one does everyone prefer GS or PS? Reasons?
The help is appreciated
Steph

Hi Stephanie!!
IMO I pefere the GS series cuz they helped me maintain/ build more muscle. They are more geared to the advanced exerciser (see the Ultimate Guide to Cathe's Workouts" but if your looking for something won't add too much bulk I would suggest PS. IMO it isn't super hard, but you will definatley feel it. Just my two cents;-)

HTH!

I thought you didnt own PS????
Arnt you suppose to be in school now??? I'm wondering about you SG! ha ha ha ha.

Stephanie,
I would recommend the GS's. Depending how easily you put muscle on, you do not have to lift as much as Cathe. There are enough repetitions to give definition in your muscles, rather than bulking them up.

I'm home sick with a head cold. I don't own all of PS, just stong legs and abs. I don't use it much though. I think that was one of the first Cathe Video I bought. My Mom likes it better.

Steph,

I love them both! I think you would do well to rotate both series.

GS goes heavier, and I feel I've probably gotten a bit better results since I started using it. However, PS is a tried and true old favorite. I love it too.

Maybe do a week with GS and then the next week try PS!

This is my second week doing GS and I really love that series however it's longer than PS. I can easily do an 8-12 week rotation with PS doing each workout twice a week because it is not as intense and I can also fit more cardio on the days I don't do SL & A. With GS I wouldn't go longer than 4-6 weeks because it is intense. Also, I like to do cardio and it's not that easy to fit it in a GS rotation if I want to train my body parts twice per week. PS is older and has more classic bodybuilding exercises perfect to get in shape in a shorter amount of time and GS is fun and a mixture of both classic and newer exercises perfect for when your body reaches a plateau.

If you have to pick one, I'd go with GS. I've gotten the best strength results with those workouts. PS is good, too, so consider it down the road but I don't think it's quite as hard. I do love the floor work with the bar in PS Legs and will sometimes tag that segment onto Leaner Legs. Also I work it into a Body Max/LB emphasis mish mosh.

Steph,

I like them both also, and PS isn't as hard as GS, but since you are doing 2-3 set of 10-12 reps this is something that you can increase weights with. The warm ups in the PS series are a little longer also. I will sometimes do other warm-ups instead of these. :D

I like both, but if I had to pick one over the other, I'd pick GS as there are more options. If you want to do a 2 body part a day rotation, you can do it pretty easily. And if you want less intense, there's the premixes.

Just remember that it's really tough for a woman to get really bulky. When I lift really heavy, as long as I am eating clean, I tend to slim down.
