GS Pushups - I DID IT!

I just had to say that I completed all 72 GS push-ups on my toes for the first time this morning! (yipee!)

Thanks so much for the challenge! And the advice you gave on another post about 10 count negative push-ups to improve strenght. It works!

What advice did Cathe give about the 10 count negative push ups?

WOW...that is absolutely amazing!! You went from 8 to 72 in a matter of a month??? I saw that your original post to Cathe was about a month ago!! That is some great progress...screw your hubby...we here in Catheland know how hard that is and we are VERY proud of you!!! I struggle with those drop sets horrible...it's on my agenda to do tomorrow and I'm already starting to dread it!!

As for Cathe's negative push ups suggestion...did you take her advice and do those 3 times a week?? If you were already doing a weighted workout that day did you just tack those 2 sets onto your already scheduled workout?? I may have to give those suckers a try...I'm not as good as I would like to be on toe push ups.

Again...big congrats and keep up the great work!!!

That's awesome! I know you feel about the lack of being impressed by DH. When I am excited about doing something that I couldn't previously do, and rave to DH, he barely stops and says, "that's good" absentmindedly.

I will definitely try the negative pushup advice. Thanks for the link!

I definitely hope to make it up to 8 pushups on the toes soon, then I will shoot for the 72!

The post where Cathe describes the 10 count pushups was not mine. I could do more than eight, but I always had to drop to my knees halfway thru the third set of twelve. Until this morning!

Yes, I did the 10 count pushups 3x a week and just added them on if I was already doing a weighted workout.

I am sooooo impressed! I'm only up to 20 on a GOOD day. I'll keep trying and follow Cathe's advise. As for your hubby...I swear...they are all alike!!!!

That's an accomplishment. You are motivating me! I did GS Chest yesterday and though I made it further than last time I still have a long way to go. I'll try adding the 10 counts and one of these days I'll do all 72 pushups, brag to my DH, and probably come here for some real congratulations. :p
