Green, White, Black & Red Difference?

You may remember my thread a few weeks ago asking baout green teas. I am proud to say I have turned into a tea junkie now!! My cupboard is full of tea...adagio & TAZO are the ones some of you recommended that I have & LOVE!!

So my question is what is the differnce between the greens, whites, blacks & even red? I'm not looking at it from a weight loss standpoint but from the antioxidant levels in them. So far I love them all but admit the black is not my fave. :( But I will drink it.

Seems I read somewhere that the lighter the color the better making white the best then green & so on. Any input?

I'm no expert but I have heard that white is the best as far as antioxidant levels are concerned followed by green and black. Red tea is very good for you because it has lots of minerals and does not have any caffeine. Supposedly Red tea is not actually "tea". Red tea has many health benefits. Since I have been drinking it (for at least 5 or 6 years) I have not had any colds.

I am drinking more green tea and recently ordered from Rishi Tea. I LOVE their teas. I have been ordering from Adagio but Rishi has organic teas and so many different flavors. I am lovin' their Orange Blossom green tea.

So if I keep a variety of the colors I should be good. I do love the red & always look for decaf no matter which ones I buy.

Thanks! :)

I forgot to add that I often mix the "colors". I don't really like black tea by itself but I'll buy some and mix it in with my red or green tea.

teavana.com

you may want to look at this website. it lists all the benefits of the different teas. i highly recommend looking up if there is a teavana store near you. you can go in a try lots of different tea blends. i've been a tea drinker my whole life and these are the best teas i've ever purchased. they sell individual cups of tea made to your order or they can make up a blend of teas to take home. it's really great!

Black tea is fermented more.
Green tea is next.
White tea is unfermented.

The caffeine content of the three decreases from top to bottom of the list.

Red tea is not from the tea plant, but from a Rooibos plant. It has no caffeine at all.
