I just started making these and would love to know some of your favorites! could you please post some of yours thanks! :D

Yeah! Green smoothies are awesome, power packed nutrition! I'd love to share with you! This is my tried and true recipe, nothing fancy, I'm a basic girl;):

Organic baby carrots
romaine lettuce and/or kale (if you use baby spinach it gives it a wonderful emerald green look)
1 frozen banana (makes it creamy)
half a mango (really makes it creamy!)
sometimes I put some berries like raspberries (whatever's at hand, warning blueberries will give it a dark look instead of an green look)
bottled water
and I mix it all in my Blendtec blender using #4 button which blends it super smooth and the mango in it gives it a delightful flavour and so creamy smooth! :D

Note with this combo if I don't put enough greens in it (though it doesn't take much) the fruits and carrots will give it a paler green look, not so appetizing but still wonderful.

What have you tried so far?

Hi, Kitterfly!
I have quite a few posted on my blog here: http://cathe.com/forum/blog.php?b=1595 (as well as a couple of other separate blog posts with smoothie recipes).

There have also been several threads here with green smoothie recipes (just do a search for "green smoothie" in the 'Open Discussion" and "Recipes" forums, and you'll find more).

HTH!

I'm new to green smoothies (or "green monsters" as I've come to call them) but I think i'm in love. :) I make a very very basic green monster consisting of: (1) 1 cup of almond milk, (2) 1/2 banana - frozen and usually dipped slightly in dark chocolate (I make a bunch of these up in advice and keep them in the freezer), (3) 1 tbsp natural creamy peanut butter, (4) 1 tbsp chia seeds, (5) two large handfuls of spinach (usually organic), and (6) 2-3 frozen strawberries. Now i'm dreaming of a green monster! I got the basic recipe from the following website and modified it slightly: http://ohsheglows.com/2011/01/13/classic-green-monster/

Also, there are a TON of green monster/smoothie recipes on this website: http://greenmonstermovement.com/?cat=3. I haven't tried any yet but they sure look delicious.

Thanks for the info! and the the link to your blog Kathryn!.. I have 2 books I purchased and couldnt find the greens they rec. anywhere. I am so excited to try these new recipes :D
