Great new way to use Boot Camp

I have an Airdyne and I usually watch either Gin Miller's Intense Moves or Imax while riding intervals. I match Cathe or Gin and do intervals, recovery and aerobics.

Today I rode 13 miles using the Everything but Core premix of Boot Camp. It was perfect. I did an interval during cardio, just normal aerobic riding using mostly legs for the leg portion, then helped a lot with my arms during upper body, then back to cardio.

I really felt like I got a tough workout. I got on the floor with the tape to do the stretch, then I did the Core only premix.

This made the time fly by and really worked well. I wanted to share it with those of you who have bicycles. I guess it might work for a treadmill workout too.

Oh, and I got some pictures put on that website everyone's been using. The only recent one is the one with the coworkers. Maybe some day I'll post me in my spandex. Maybe.

Great ideas! I have an Airdyne, and maybe I'll use your idea instead of really doing Intense Moves which I had penciled in to do tomorrow.

Great, Honeybunch! I was hoping you saw my post for sure. You are the only other person on Earth that I know of with an Airdyne who does Cathe tapes!

I have a semitrecumbent bike that I also do to IMAX2. I =have also jumped on during the Boot camp workout too. Its a great workout! I like the idea of doing the core work at the end.

May God always grant you a sunbeam to warm you... a moonbeam to charm you...& a sheltering angel, so nothing can harm you :)

Thanks soooo much for the idea!!! Sears will be delivering an elliptical trainer to me Thurs! I can use it just the way you did your Airdyne.

I have been thinking I would use the interval tapes, but the boot camp just looks so fun. I have been pretty bummed because I can't do any impact (back surgery in Jan.). I have been missing Cathe's cardio. I can't wait to get started back.

Any other Ideas? I'm afraid I don't have DVD, so I can't do it exactly as you did, but close.

Thanks for sharing!
Susan

In VHS the best tape I know of is Gin Miller's Intense Moves. It is only 45 minutes long, with a short warmup, ten intervals like Cathe's Interval Max. What's great is that her blasts are all exactly one minute, with a visual countdown bar on the screen so you can see exactly how long you've got. This is helpful because the Airdyne is so noisy I can't hear the tape.

I've also used Imax and Imax2 but they have too long a warmup for the bicycle and the intervals vary in length, especially in Imax2.
So, the Boot Camp premix is my favorite tape for this since it's new, but Intense Moves works really well. I rarely do it as a step tape since it's less fun to me than the Imaxes.

Hi Deb!

How are YOU? Good to "see" you! An Airdyne is an exercise bike by Schwinn. It is the kind that you also use the handle bars to pull and push while you pedal. The bike also gives off a blast of air aimed at you from the wheel. I think I got this right? WISH I had one! :)

RE: Hi Deb!

Hi Deb!

I'm good. How are you? Everytime I read one of your responses or posts I just get one of those goofy warm smilie;-) feelings. You sure cast a warm glow over this place. It's almost like everytime someone knocks at Cathe's door either you or HB, or Donna or any one of those nice ladies answers the door.

It is great to hear that your DH is working out with Cathe. Steve is still going at it! He is looking better all the time. Funny, we have some friends who are doing BFL and I overheard Steve talking about Cathe to the husband! He said, " Man, she'll kick your butt or I'll buy you lunch!" Anyway, maybe one of these days Cathe will put out a workout with a mostly male cast, or half and half.

I read your Success Story Deb and was so moved. I had no idea! Thanks for sharing it with us. Thanks for the "hey".

Take Care, Deb D
