Got my new vest!!

Cathe I received my vest today. I love it. It is made very well. I plan to wear it while doing push ups as well as when walking the dogs. The gloves are great also. Do you use the vest in the STS workouts? Do you plan to introduce it in any new upcoming DVD's? Can I wear it while doing low impact step?

Congratulations on your new endeavors and I wish you all the best with everything!!

Carmen.

i'm still in meso 1 of STS, but I believe she does use the vest in mesocycle two or three.

Hi Carmen. I am so glad you are enjoying the vest. Isn't it SO comfortable???? It is just so hard to imagine that until you have it on. I love how it immediately makes me stand taller once its on. Your uses for the vest are perfect. I use the vest in the squat rack routine of the STS workouts. Yes, I do plan on featuring it in upcoming DVD's as it really is an excellent intensity enhancer. Yes, you can wear it during low impact floor aerobics, but I wouldn't recommend it for step aerobics...potential trip hazzard), as long as the moves are basic. Also no pivots, spins, or advanced choroegraphy as you don't want to lose your balance and fall. Side steps, tap reaches, hamstring curls, side leg extensions, etc. work well. Then move into your leg work such as squats, static lunges, walking lunges, abduction leg lifts back lunges, etc. and your heart rate will get up there.. Try a push up sequence followed by 25 dips off the edge of the coffee table and watch those bi's and tri's say HELLO!!!

Would you do me a favor Carmen. Would you mind writing a review on QVC about your purchase. This would be very helpful for other consumers looking for more info. If you would be so kind to do it please go to this link and look for the words "write a review" (located to the far right of the star rating). Thank you in advance :)

I love the vest & gloves!

Hi Cathe, I didn't purchase the set from QVC but I have both & use them often. Would they be interested in a review from someone who has had them for a while? I bought them to do STS.

Hi Wiggie! Yes, you will be fine writing a review. They are looking for honest reviews from people who have it, use it, and would like to share with others what they like best about it (or I suppose dislike if the vest didn't work out for them).

Thanks in advance.

Cathe, I just ordered the vest from QVC. I'll certainly post a review there, once I receive and use it.

I'm glad you came out with the vest. I've wanted something like this for years to add intensity to my workouts without adding impact. I've never liked any of the other weight vests I've seen though, or they were just too spendy for me. This seems to be the perfect combo of quality and price point for me. Thanks.

I got my vest too Cathe! There's a sale at Big 5 so we picked it up! I'm so glad I watched the QVC clip because I felt like I really knew what to expect. But what's really funny is that Joe (my DH, remember him?) wanted to put it on 30s after I put it on and remarked how comfy it was for him! Actually, it was so comfy he didn't realize that it was still on until after hefting 5 50lb bags of gravel as we were working in the garden. Silly boy. Very excited to use it and very excited to give a review for it and show it off on my facebook page!

I also love the vest! I took a power walk in it today and it made a difference in how fast my heart rate climbed. It's only 10 lbs., but it is nice to do the same thing you'd be doing without the vest, and without any more effort, just wearing the vest, you get more out of your walk (or whatever you are doing). Love it!

I am wondering if I can use it for dance cardio. Maybe there are too many moves and too much leaping and jumping to add 10 pounds...

Thank you for your feedback Saturn. It really is a great vest, isn't it? Funny you should mention cardio dance. I was trying to get that point out on QVC but we ran out of time. What I wanted to point out on the show were activities that I wouldn't recommend it for. Those activities would be high impact repetitive cardio training/sports or any activity that spins, tips forward, backward, or challenges your balance or equilibrium (ie: climbing bleachers at the stadium, running, step aerobics, dancing, gymnastics, swimming (obviously ;))).

Its best use is for fitness walking (hills or flats), squats. lunges, pull ups, push ups, most leg workouts, basic straightforward low impact activities, or if you are a seasoned athlete then controlled sport performance activities.

I hope this helps :)

As far as dance, I wouldn't recommend it only because as

I totally agree with you Kweller. Wait until this vest gets on your body and just "centers" you. I just love the comfort, feel, and look of it....and as I said on QVC "and it does the job"...which of course is most important.

My sister stole my vest. Well, I let her borrow it. Now I don't know if I'll get it back :p I may have to let her keep it- she has a birthday coming up anyway!

Thanks so much Sangeeta. I hope you and Joe are doing well in your new home. The chores never end, do they?! :)

I was thinking about getting the vest as well. I currently own a walkvest, and it's wonderful, but it only holds 16lbs. I noticed that Cathe's vest is shorter and appears to stop at the upper back. I was wondering if I could layer that vest over my current one to increase the total weight I'm pushing for legs in Meso 3. I don't have access to a squat rack, and I don't have room for one in my office where I workout. I'm thinking this might be a good way to add 10 more extra pounds to my legs. I don't want to spend the money if I'm not going to be able to use it.

Thank you.
