And did it ever HURT! I am not normally a baby but I thought she was killing me.
I have had my belly button done before but it got infected. She said the reason why it hurt so much was b/c there was still infection trapped inside which could have spread.....not nice.
Anyway, its done and looks cute.Prehaps when I get my abs in tip top shape I will take a pic and post it.
Lori:)

I have been wanting to get my belly button pierced for about 5 yrs. I just never could get the nerve. I have heard that it hurts when they do it. My friend said that if I could stand the tattoo on my lower back, that I could take the piercing. I might consider doing it next summer.

Or maybe I'm a big Chicken!!

I have had fleeting thoughts about it since I've gotten my abs in shape but DH would blow a gasket!! I wasn't happy at all when DD was 18 and got hers done. I just figure it isn't that important to me and I know how to pick my battles!!

I've never been tempted to do my belly button, but have wanted to do my nose for years. I'd love a little stud in the crease of my nostril. Alas, it's not professional looking so I've held off. I guess I'm glad I did because I don't know if I would have gotten the job that I'm starting on Monday with a nose piercing.

Awesome! I got mine done about 3 years ago. The only thing that suprised me was how long it really to took heal. My daughter 16 at the time went with me.

Noone really sees it but I'm still glad I have it. I'm older to get it done -40s!

I got mine done a while ago. Didn't hurt at all. My nose is pierced and that, on the other hand, hurt like a sonofagun:p

LoriH -We wanna see pics. I am glad you like it but sorry it hurt:( I will never get mine done as I figure with the 24 year post pregnancy stretch marks I have it wouldn't be all that flattering:

I wanted to pierce the upper part of my ear. Someone told me that because it was cartiledge up there it would hurt a lot. Has anyone done this and is it true?

Ive had that done to. It wasn't to bad.Not near the pain I went through to get my belly button done.
Right now, all I have in my belly button is a bar. I have to keep that in for 3-4 months, but I will probably keep it in for even longer. No one is gonna see it anyway.
I have a few stretch marks on my stomach to but I got it done anyway. Like I said, I think it looks cute and I didn't get it done for anyone else.I am not the kind of girl who wears short t-shirts or anything.
So far so good, no infection. I am anticipating that there will be before to long. Thats just my luck!
Lori:)

You, Lori, are brave. As are all you other pierced mavens! I've got tattoos but I'm a total wuss when it comes to the piercing thing. The only reason my ears are pierced is because my mom had it done when I was 2 months old and didn't have any say in the matter! ;)

Got mine done nearly 6 months ago and just love it, Of course I have an allergy to most jewelry so I have to wear gold, but looks great! no probs, an irritation now and then but all is great with it.

I have had mine done about 4 years-mine didn't hurt at all. However it took a year for it heal up and not look gross.I was about to take mine out because it was sore and wouldn't heal up.But I read on the internet it can take 2 years for it to heal with some people and it should not be removed because then the stuff has nowhere to go.How I finally got mine healed up was that my son had a skin rash and was given a steroid cream so I used it on my piercing -it healed within days.I had the same trouble with my ear piercing-I followed the care directions on both I guess my body don't like holes put in it:) .But than again I don't heal good even with a scrape and everything scars and I bruise like a peach-barely touch me and I bruise.

I had mine pierced about a year ago. There were no problems with the healing process, and I think that's because I used a sea salt soak several times a day and after working out. Use just a teaspoon in about one cup of warm water. I usually soaked it for 15 minutes at a time . . . unless it made me sleepy and then I would nap. I also used a special soap to cleanse it with -- antimicrobial soap.

I love mine.

Welcome to the club! I had mine pierced last spring and was surprised that it didn't hurt more - one good pinch and that was it. I did my aftercare religiously - two soapings per day with Provon soap - plus a few sea-salt soakings the first week when it was tender. I healed fully in 7-8 months (I was told 8-12 months is the normal healing time).

Hi Lori, as you know I am 45, and I got my belly button pierced on May 11. Its all healed now and I get to switch out my belly rings. I am glad I did it, I like it real well.....

Rhonda

Actually Lois that doesn't hurt anymore than getting ear lobes pierced
I had to let my cartilege piercing grow up it got infected, didn't know I should have put a loop in it, instead of a post, for air to get to it........

I got mine pierced almost a year ago. I have a ring in mine but would love to get a barbell to put in. Mine has heeled pretty well. I had some problems for a while with it and it healing. I almost took it out, but I am so glad I didn't. :)

did someone say that it didn't hurt?????? What were you on when you got it done????? I want some!!! My hurt, I almost passed out, I saw stars, and ABSOLUTELY REFUSED to take it out during my pregnancies because I WAS NOT GETTING IT REPIERCED! And I am not a wimp. Whoever didn't think it hurt, I bow to you!!!!

I got mine done after I dropped 30 lbs & it didn't hurt at all. My GF came with me & I was holding her hand, & while she was watching she was squeezing my hand really hard. I was like hellloooo, I'M the one who's supposed to be doing that......

Anyway, I think much of it has to do w/the piercer's technique. The guy who did mine was obviously very professional & experienced. I barely felt a thing. It was sore for about a month after but let's face it, it's an open wound, of course it's gonna hurt a little.

BTW I finally got my new piece of jewelry yesterday--it's awesome! So glad I invested the money. :)
