Good workout today!

Deciding to try out some other workouts and use some of my other DVDs, I picked up the BSS 3 Firms : Complete Body Sculpting ( Krista ) and Total Muscle Shaping ( Stephanie )Both are really surprisingly good workouts! The FIRM is evolving as far as cardio moves. Although why are they so fond of that step forward right, left then hop back thing? But anyway, I liked the music and Stephanie's workout was one of the good ones to come out from the Goodtimes. It isn't a Cathe but it's something I'd do! So this morning I did Total Muscle Shaping + All Step Cardio + AB Assault ( Core Secrets ) and had a really good time.

I love mixing the Firm with Cathe. I don't own BSS3 because I didn't want to buy the box, but I enjoy BSS2 from time to time. I own all the older Firms and they are suprisingly tough. I get annoyed with all the Firm bashing that goes on from time to time. Sure their cardio isn't up to Cathe's speed, but some of their AWT, when you heavy up, can be a challenge!

I feel the same way about Kathy Smith's Lift Weights To Lose Weight (1). I find the upperbody section to be one of the best for 20 minutes. I use 8 and 10 lb. weights and my arms are very heavy afterwards. Many people scoff at the ease of this. I think you make the workout as easy or difficult as you want. I will never part with this one.

You should really buy the 2 new cardio add-ons by Lisa and Stephanie. They are actually pretty hard. I had to take a small water break the first time I did each, but the second time around I kept going. Stephanie does a 3-knee repeater on the 14 inch box. I'm only 5' tall and that was pretty difficult for me. I think after that section was when I took the break. And Lisa actually does squat thrust in her workout. They're definitely not as hard as Cathe as Lisa does them with putting your hands on the tall box instead of the floor, but still gets the heart rate up.

I also like the firm.I have the bss1 and bss2 and many older ones. They are great workouts. It is good to do different workouts to keep the body guessing and keeps it fun and interesting it might not be cathe but I have found mixing it up is really working for me.I have read time and time again you shouldn't work at high intensity all the time. I have also gotten great results with pilates after 4 weeks my abs looked great.I love billy blanks, janis saffell, mari winsor and many many others.I love cathe a lot and have a lot of her dvds I love her weight dvds and a lot of her cardio which makes me think of how I need to get out my ctx dvd, pyramids, muscle endurance kp&c,cardio kicks, kickbox and many many more. I just want to say I like the firm too.Variety is the key!! for me!!

Have a great evening everyone I am off to work outside

Hi!
So you find that Pilates really does make a difference? How often do you do it in a week to see results in just 4 weeks? I have a few workouts that haven't been tried yet.

I was looking at those at Collage because these 2 were good. Does Pam Cauthen lead another one and is it worth getting?

Hi Rach

I am doing a 15 to 20 minute pilate workout 5 or 6 days a week. I will tack it on to my 60 minute workout on weekdays and if I don't have time I will do it in the evening. I like the winsor, crunch,
classical pilates and the method and a few more. I was doing them about 4 weeks and one of my co workers asked me if I had lost weight and the answer was no she said whatever you are doing keep doing it because you look great but I really started firming up in my abs hips thighs I just love using pilates with cardio and weights it is such a great combination for me anyway some don't like pilates.

I am glad you had a good workout today.
:) ;)

Have a great evening

Pam leads 2 of the newest workouts which I really like. They use very little equipment and would be perfect for taking on vacation. One is an all lower body floor workout using only the sculpting stick, 1 set of dumbbells, and the box. My legs really feel this workout. The other workout is a full body workout with the sculpting stick only. No other equipment. This really is not a good workout for the upper body, but I really like it for the lower body and it has some pretty good cardio segments in it. She actually does some power moves such as plie squats. Again, these are not near as intense as Cathe, but they are pretty good. And like the poster above, I sometimes need easier workouts for days when I'm not up to doing Cathe.
