I ran Chicago a couple of years ago and I have to say:
#1 I want to do it again
#2 Of all marathons I've run, Disney(great race, gotta get up too early, sorry) and Twin Cities(my home town and a great race, but HILLY--I actually like the TC 10 mile that's run at the same time as the marathon better)I have to say that it was the most organized run I've done(I'd still like to get in the New York marathon lottery someday, sigh...)
There were literally people along the ENTIRE route and all cheered for you, no matter how fast or slow you were.

BEWARE THOUGH, if they still have the area on the route where you have to run and smell these FABULOUS tortillas, OMG, it makes you want to stop and eat some!!

Keep us posted on how you did and how you liked it!!

Awwww! Thank you Mary. I really appreciate that. I'm starting to get nervous. It's my first one. My goal is just to finish. That's all I want to do is finish it. :)

Dani, It's no small thing you'll be doing on Sunday but you've been training for months for this!! You'll do great! It's going to be an awesome feeling when you cross that finish line!:D :D :D I'm so excited for you and can hardly wait to hear about your experience.:) Have FUN!!!:) :) ;) :D :p:7
 
I can honestly say that there is so much to see while you're out on the course that you'll be at the half way point and not realize that you're 1/2 way done!! The people that cheer you on are such an inspiration, it's amazing!! When you line up it can be a bit overwhelming--the THOUSANDS of people all running towards the same goal--just take your time and enjoy yourself!!!!
By the way--just wait 'til you get to the Expo to pick up your packet--you'll get this "feeling" when you see all of these people there just like you--I still remember it, it's AWESOME to see all your hard work come to this!!!!!!

P.S. "ELvis"--was out on the course on the 'hood of a Cadillac--it was HILARIOUS!!! Maybe you'll have an Elvis sighting!!! :)

Awwwww, Dani, I know you're gonna do great. Just don't eat shredded wheat before the race;)

Good luck, Dani, I hope you have a wonderful race and an awesome experience. I've only done a 1/2 marathon and that was one of the best experiences of my life - I haven't decided if I'm going to tackle a full one, but you are definitely inspiring me to do some major thinking about it! ;-)

Dani - I hope to be there IN PERSON to cheer you on but I also have your bib number programmed to give me updates on my cell phone. The weather this weekend is going to be PERFECT! YAY!! Just don't wear lime green shorts!! LOL!!!

By the way, did you hear that Jennifer Wilbanks (The Runaway Bride) is going to be there? Maybe she'll be wearing a veil!! HAHAHAHAHA!!!

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!! DebbieH, teehee!! I will definitely be thinking of all of you behind me, pushing!!! LOL!

The whole training experience has been wonderful! I never knew I could run 20 miles!!!!!!!! But, I did it and finished strong! I stayed with my pace group the entire time and we did it together. It was great!!
