Good for them, but funny to me

This thread is disappointing to me. This is exactly why I don't like to exercise in front of people or go for a walk in daylight and will probably never join a gym because whenever I do cardio I'm huffing and puffing, practically red lining according to my HRM. I mean nobody likes to be belittled for trying thier best. Even though you didn't say it to thier faces how many of us in Catheland are one of those people in that class? (I'm raising my hand).
Fitness is hard enough with or without comments like this.

I don't think Kim was belittling you or anyone in the class, she's saying GOOD FOR THEM but as an advanced exerciser that class would be too easy for her, that's all. Even though I work out with Cathe too, I know I look/sound on the verge of a heart attck when I go for a jog along the trail across the street. I pass plenty of "hardcore" runners who are probably thinking that about me, and it did bother me at first but after awhile I realized I don't care what other people think. I'm doing it for me and I'm doing what I can for my personal fitness level at the moment and jogging is difficult for me for various reasons but I know I could kick every single one of their butts in Imax 2

Don't worry about what other people are thinking or saying to your face or behind your back, just worry about yourself. Even if they are belittling you so what? Why do you care what they think? Are you trying to impress them or are you trying to get yourself healthy?

I find classes a bit more difficult than working out at home with DVDs..with classes you are pretty much forced to keep up the pace - no pausing! And I've seen workouts that look easy but when done are challenging. Maybe you should give the bootcamp class a try..you might be surprised it's a challenge..or happy you can make it through, and it might be fun meeting workout buddies.

I always find that when just watching a workout, it looks tons easier than it is. So I never judge on just watching alone ;)

This is so so true!

OMG, just preview Cardio Plyo from Insanity. I previewed it thinking "Looks easy, but why are all these fit looking people dropping to the floor at the end?"
LOL! I found out!!!

Tamrahan, never feel embarrassed where you are in fitness. No matter how advanced you get, there is ALWAYS someone more fitter than you. Never compete with someone else or feel ashamed. Stay focused on your dream. We all started somewhere and we are all moving forward at a different pace.

...which is EXACTLY why I said GOOD FOR THEM. I thought it was great they were doing the class. I was NOT making fun of them in any way. It just looked to easy for what I'm used to you. You say these comments are what make people not want to exercise; these comments are what make people not want to post what they believe to be innocent things.

I suppose I can see now where you would think this, but honestly, it never entered my mind as I was watching them or posting the thread.

Thanks for putting a different spin on it. I never thought of that. :)

Tami~

I am truly & sincerely sorry if my comment was insensitive! I honeslty didn't mean it that way. I apologize, no excuses from me. I should think before speaking! :(

MaynardsMom, I don't know, maybe I was the one out of line, after all I am not the forum police. People can post what they want and people can respond. You don't owe me an apology.

Kiminem, I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings. You explained where you were coming from and I guess I'm frustrated after 10 years of doing fitness videos-cardio and weights, running, biking and walking etc I'm not where I want to be fitnesswise and I guess I didn't care for how your o/p was phrased maybe?
