Good Eating June 7

Well, I am down another pound! :DGuess this really works LOL!;) I did have meatloaf with mashed potatoes last night, but I kept in proportion and it was a balanced meal with veggies and stuff. Not the best choice, but could have been worse.
I did have a terrible craving for chocolate, so I did give in to a tiny bit of a taste.
But the biggest achievment for me was NO soda at all! That has been the hardest to give up. I always drink diet, but still.
I did have a dream that whole wheat was bad a fattening! I just started crying!!! What a nightmare! LOL!;(
Happy eating to all of today!:)

down another pound? I guess good eating really does work. Darn. I remember in the movie "Sleeper, which is set 200 years from now, it is learned that donuts, pie and candy are actually good for you and all the stuff that was thought good is bad. Oh, if life were only like the movies.
I had like six granola bars yesterday but I have gained my two pound back. Can't work out today either because the water is off for the day. What fun.

Megadoo - That's great! And extra cheers for you for getting yourself off of soda!

Kate - I don't know if I could handle eating 6 granola bars. :7 The water is off for the entire DAY? Geez. This means no bathroom, either?!

Just wondering what you guys do to stay motivated. I have not been "off the couch" for more than 4 days now. YIKES. And I know that I can't keep this up or I will never maintain!!!!! But keeping up the workouts on a regular basis becomes a daunting task at times. HELP!!!!

Honestly, these threads really help me stay motivated.
I have just recently really started to pay attention to my eating. I work my a$$ off doing these WO, so I want to see the benefits too! Can't see muscle if there is too much fat covering it ya know?
Fitness has become real important to me, but it IS HARD! Especially since my DH doesn't seem to like healthy food and I have two small boys who have their snacks, so the house is full of temptations.
I just focus on my goal I guess, and if I screw up, I try again the next day.
Hope this helps, I know it is hard. BUT it IS doable!!:+ :+

It might sound like a royal pain in the ass, but actually keeping a journal has been really keeping me on track. I don't mean like a Dear Diary... (unless you like to do that sort of thing), I mean like a TO DO TODAY or TO DO THIS WEEK journal. Every night before, I plan out what I'm going to eat the next day. And in my TODAY journal, I have the workout I plan to do, and any other challenge I have for myself....even like keeping my kitchen scrubbed ;) .

And....it might sound childish, but I'll mark off all the things I accomplished in my TO DO TODAY journal with smilies. As silly as it sounds, when I see all the smilies looking back at me at the end of the day, it really feels good. That definitely keeps me on track. I love to mark my smilies!

I like the smiles idea too! My audit training has me putting x's on the things I get done. X's don't exactly lift my spirits at the end of the day. I'm going to try smiles from now on.

Leisa - It's a one day at a time kind of thing for me. I never exercised until about a year ago. And eating healthy wasn't at the top of my list either. But once I decided that I needed to take better care of myself, I somehow found time to do the things I needed to do. When I don't feel like working out, I tell myself that I only need to do 10 minutes. More often than not, I go for longer. And if I don't, at least I tried. I find that the more I exercise and stay away from bad foods, the easier it becomes.

Speaking about good eating habits, I have NOT been that good. I've gained 1.5 lbs this week and am not happy about it. I'm blaming it all on those PB cravings I've had. So now I'm stopping all PB (hopefully I'll be able to fight off the next craving). Organic or not, it still has a higher level of fat than I normally eat. My body likes to hold onto fat too much. I'll have to be very strict over the next week - oh well, I've done it before and I can do it again.
