Going to Orleans, MA on Saturday

I will be there for a week. I might have a chance to check in here or maybe not. Anyway, it's part of Cape Cod. I'll be visiting with relatives and an old school chum. I'll be with my mom and my son, and we'll swim in the ocean! Yippee!

I already miss the forum here! I'll think of you all while doing daily push-ups, lunges, glute raises, bike rides, swimming, etc. I'm glad my (72-y-o) mom is an active person!!

Hi Connie!
Have a fun trip!
What a beautiful place to go! Lots to do and see there!

Enjoy your time with your family and seeing your old pal(who will be converting to cathe as soon as they see you;)
Have a blast and take some pics of the beautiful outdoors there!

Have a great time, Connie! I love Massachusetts! My father was born and raised in Gloucester (Cape Ann area about 1/2 hour north of Boston) and went to Boston University; been there myself many times. I've always felt MA was my true spiritual home!

Have fun, enjoy your mom and son and relatives and school chums and that great New England Ocean, and let us know how your trip went when you get back!

Hey Connie,

Have fun on the Cape. My FIL lives in Eastham (the next town over). I don't know how much actual swimming you plan on doing as the water will be about 55 degrees up there! BRRRRR!!!! The bay side is usually warmer when the tide is high. When the tide is low, there is virtually no water for quite a ways out, it's very cool to see.

Got to Rock Harbor to see the sunset, it's beautiful! Go to the Lobster Shack for lobster, it's cheap!

Have fun!

Thanks, guys!

You'd never believe it, but when I got to San Francisco (I grew up in CT near the ocean) and saw the San Francisco Marina Green (there's a beach there) I had on a bathing suit and I just jumped in. How cold could it be, I thought. Little did I know that water can be below freezing, and still be liquid!

It was a hot summer day but that water was cold. It took just as much energy to avoid dying as it took to pretend that I wasn't shocked by the water temp. After a decent interval (maybe 2 minutes) I nonchalantly got out and dried off. I must have been blue. But I didn't repeat that one.

Thank you all for the good wishes! A-J, you are so right on! I have already started to pre-sell Cathe to my friend! wOO-HOO, IT WILL BE MY FIRST CONVERSION JOB! i AM BRINGING THE WHOLE ctx SERIES ON TAPE, AS WELL AS SOME OLDER STEP TAPES.

Oops, all-caps... I'll check in later today. Missing you all already. I have been reading the forum most days, a lot more than I have been posting. XXOO

Just got back. It was a great trip. (I did CTX Kickbox on the Wednesday. Without weights, just the cardio and abs.)

I'm glad to get back to my warm, breezy, dry California weather! It was very humid there. Lots of insects.

Went to Nauset beach and rode big waves in 58 degree water! Had a family reunion on Wed. afternoon. They all think I'm looking fit. Found out that some of my aunties exercise. Shared fitness stories and advice. It was wonderful.

I'll post a pic or two when the film gets developed.

Nauset light is my favorite beach! Just love it!

Glad you had a good time - yes this summer has been VERY humid. We had an incredibly rainy spring/early summer. Thursday was beautiful (not sure when you got back)

Deborah yep.. you got all the right places!!

Thursday was beautiful! We went to Nauset and the surf was high, water temp was "only" 58 (warm!)

I was unable to swim Thurs. due to sharks. There were no sharks but I didn't want to invite any. It was TTOM. x(

My son was able to overcome his fear about 4 p.m. and get in! Then, I had such a great time watching him! I did go in up to my knees and coach!

OOOh Connie, how jealous am I??? I was born in Rhode Island, and sooo miss New England summers....Virginia is just too hot, the beach is too far away, and there is no great shocking cold water to jump in! I am glad you had a wonderful time! Nauset is one of the most beautiful places on earth......

I use to vacation there with my family when I was a kid. My brothers and I always laugh about my oldest brother cheating on the miniature golf course. That brings back great memories! Have a great time. The Atlantic is so nice to swim in. I live in California and I can't tell you how cold the Pacific is even in the summer. BRrrr.
