Going for the GOAL!

Hello everyone. I'm new to the forum and I just want to tell you all a little about myself first :D

My name is Tempestt. I'm 20 years old and live in Saint Louis, Missouri. I was blessed at the tender and rebellious age of 15 with a beautiful baby girl(who is now 5). During my pregnancy I gained a whopping 70 pounds and I was not was NOT a happy camper....BELIEVE ME! Before my pregnancy I was about 130-135lbs and standing 5'2. Being 5'2 and 200lbs just made me look like a big blob-lol! I was determined to get the weight off so by mid April 2007 I managed to shred it all to 132lbs! YAY ME :) That has been my lowest weight since I had my daughter.

Now, I packed on a few pounds since then. I'm now 143lbs and still a short little munchkin at 5'2-lol!

My GOAL is to lose 20 pounds in 2 to 3 months just to feel a little bit better about myself and have more confidence.
The problem....I don't know where to start. Back when I was pregnant, I ate everything because I craved everything which was a lot of junk food and sat around all day because I was to lazy and to tired to do anything. It was easy to lose the weight because, after my baby, my hormones got back on track and I went back to eating like I used to and was no longer restricted to the things I loved to do like dancing and running track.

What I want to know is what are the best routines to shoot for when trying to reach my kind of goal? What DVD's are best to use? I'm really just trying to burn the calories right now and when I reach my goal I will then start to tone everything up.

I would appreciate any advice given to me with a promise to keep you all updated on my pound-to-pound achievement ;)

You've got the motivation, but I would work on both cardio and toning up at the same time. You can focus on cardio and just do weights 2x per week. Increasing your muscle mass will increase your body's ability to burn fat and drop the weight.

Keep the cardio workouts mixed up and don't let your body get used to a particular type of workout. Have you checked out the rotations forum? There are tons of planned out rotations designed for different results. I'd start there.

Don't forget that diet is a huge part of obtaining your results. Be sure to stay away from processed foods and fast food as much as possible. The cleaner you eat, the better!

Good luck! I know you'll reach your goals!
