Okay, DF and I just got home from watching the game and Florida (my team) beat Tennessee (his team). DF and I are both very big college football fans, rabid when it comes to our alma maters.

Anyway, we beat them 59-20. Needless to say, DF is NOT happy and I don't want to make it worse and gloat. So, I am just going to post how absolutely thrilled I am!!! I have to get it out somehow.

I must really love him because I feel kinda badly that he's upset.

Not too much, though!

My brother in St. Augustine is a Gator fan. He assures me before the fact last year that Florida would beat Ohio State last year for the National Title when everyone and their brother were picking the Buckeyes.

I am not the biggest college football fan by any means, but I am stunned by the fact that for as good as Florida QB's look in college, it doesn't translate to success in the NFL.

Congrats on your big "W" today.

I caught the score of this in the 1st when it was like 27-3 or something close to that & I thought about you- I read the thread that you had mentioned being a gator fan! I am glad they won- I am an Illinois fan for college but more so basketball than football & I will admit that I like the gators- I dated a guy for 4 years that was a gator football fan and they kind of grew on me! :)

That being said- he was also a HUGE NY Yankee fan and I do have to admit that watching them is amazing, they are a really good team. I LOVE my Cardinals but like watching the NY games, we even flew to NY for a Red Sox/Yankee game a few years back. PLUS- having Jeter and Rodriguez as eye candy is NICE. }(

ANYWAY- CONGRATS!!!

Funny you should mention that because we were saying the esame thing this afternoon. Leak didn't even make it to the season. I don't knwo why our QB's dont have success in the pros. But...they sure do have success in college!!!

Jen, that's so cool you were thinking about me! It was a big win. I am happy. DF, not so much.

So where did you get the "Say it is great to be a Florida Gator"? It is very cool!! I am happy your team won. However, I am disappointed---I am in the SEC, and my team did not win. I have to say that I root for Florida anytime they don't play us. The Gators look tough this year (as they do most years). Good luck. Hopefully, your DF will have some great wins, too!!

Who is your team? I am not so sure about the SEC this year. We are usually such a strong confrence but we are looking really weak so far. I have always felt the SEC is one of (if not the) toughest conference out there. We're not looking like that this year.

I am worried about LSU. They are looking really good and we play them in the regular season and then could possibly meet them again in the SEC championship.

Anyway, it'll be a good season.

I agree, the SEC is usually very strong. I am a Razorback. We have had a rough year since the end of last year, losing coaches and players. At least we still have Darren McFadden and Felix Jones!
LSU does look tough. I also can't beleive Kentucky beat Louisville and Mississippi State beat Auburn last night!

I would definitely say Florida and LSU have a good chance in playing in the championship game.

I am so glad football season is here!!
