I think I'll start with the Shelter news so that I can end with the happier Gizmo news.
I mentioned the bad strain of kennel cough that was going through our Shelter in a recent update. Well, as it turns out it is influenza and every single dog at our Shelter will be euthanized (75-80 dogs). People have been told to isolate their own dogs for the next few weeks. So very sad. Please say a prayer for those little babies and the staff and volunteers who are dealing with the heartbreak.
The good news is that we got Gizmo out of there just in time. The other good news is that yesterday Gizmo got his collar off and then the tape so the boarding facility took him over to the vet and the vet said it looked good so he gets to keep it off! Yay!!! He can't have any dry dog food or chew on any bones for another 2 weeks. I have no clue how we are going to keep him from rough housing with our other dogs (all ideas welcome!), as they are all SOOOOOOOO excited to be home and they are playing constantly. Both of Gizmo's ears are standing up now from the collar (I posted new pics in the Dogs, Hair, etc. album).
