GILBERT!!!!!

Shelly
congratulation on the impending addition! It is so exciting to have a new pet to love! I'm sure you will be rushing home often to be with him and Sophie will too!

Oh, Shelley, he sounds like such a cutie. Thank you so much for adopting. I have two dogs that were rescued and they are the best. Gilbert looks like he has plenty of German Shepherd in him. He will be a great addition to your family.

I'm so excited for you. Congratulations! :7

Forgot to add that both of mine are Shepherd mixes also. I'm just SO HAPPY for you! Sophie will be so tickled :D

Thanks everyone! My SO met him last night and said he's a lovely boy, very quiet and gentle and calm, and out of all the dogs there (the woman has about 5 of her own and fosters about 8!!!), he was the only one who didn't bark:) He also said it was difficult not to adopt MORE!!!

Shelley-

He's a bandana dog! You need one for every season! And every day of the week!

Oh, I'm so HAPPY about the new member of your family!! <<HUGS>>

Oh, you're right, he IS!!! We were thinking this morning of things we needed to get for him - food, a food dish and water bowl, a leash, a doggie bed (he sleeps on one now so I'd like to keep that going). But he DEFINITELY needs a bandana:)

COngratulations!
I'm glad you decided to rescue a dog rather than get one from a pet shop or "buy" (I hate using that term for living beings) a bread.
Gilbert sounds like he'll be a wonderful addition to your family.
I agree: take a picture of the first encounter between G. and your daughter.

Shelley,

Congratulations on your new pet. He's a beautiful boy!! He'll enrich your lives in ways you can't begin to imagine. Do, please, take a pic of Sophie's first meeting with her new pet. That will be a precious moment.

You definitely need bandana's. I used to buy fabric and cut out my own. I got the idea from the gal who groomed my dogs--that's what she did.

Take care and I wish you many happy years with your new pet.

Shelley - Congrats! What fun! I can't wait to hear how surprised Sophie is when she sees him! Make sure to take lots of pictures to share with us!

I'm so excited for you. Gilbert looks so adorable and he will be so happy to have his own loving home. Can't wait to hear how Sophie reacts. Please send pictures.

Shelly that is so wonderful. His profile sounds like my lab Cinder which I also found hime through Petfinder.com. We had him for 2 years now. Hope all goes well when you bring him home:).
