We where invited to my son's girlfriend 19th birthday lunchen, would it be ok to give her money for her birthday versus a gift? I would't know what to giver her she's pretty simple gal, not materialistic, doesn't where makeup. The reason I thought money would be a good option was because she just statrted college and has no money and she loves shopping at consighment stores for clothes. I was thinking between $25 and $40?

IMO, money is a great idea. My youngest just finished college, but I can tell you most college kids are broke. Trust me on this....they do not consider money gifts rude!
