Getting muscle definiton

How is the best way to get muscle definition? Is it best to work each body part once a week - like using SH or GS. Or doing each body part twice a week - like a total body workout and one upper body and one lower body workout a week. Or 3 total body workouts a week?

I am very confused. I seem to have trouble showing any definition, especially in my triceps. I do not need to lose any weight, but would like definition.

I also run 4 miles 2 times a week with Cardio Coach.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I'd like to know this too so I am bumping.
I have started doing the slow and heavy series. I have some definition but I'd like more. I have noticed that my strength has gotten way better since starting slow and heavy.

I usually don't post any messages because it is out of my comfort zone, but I can't help and share what has worked for me. I too worked out for years to Cathe and The Firm with great strength, but no real muscle definition. I started taking supplements made by AdvoCare, and my whole life changed. The supplement that changed this for me is CATALYST. All it is a blend of essential branched-chain amino acids and L-glutamine to supply your body with the muscle-building components it needs. This product is for someone who wants to enhance strength and endurance, muscle tone, and define and preserve your lean body mass. It was developed for the US olympic wrestling team back in the 90's, and is used by profitness competitors and champions. This may or may not be for you but I just didn't feel right not posting this, because it will give you what you want if you take it correctly. Good luck! I will post the link, and you should at least check it out.

I hit each muscle once per week, lifting as heavy as I can for approximately 8 reps. I split upper body into two days, lower into two days (one heavy, one lighter higher rep) + one yoga day. That combined with an "Eat to Live" diet has helped me see much better definition.

I also got great results with P90X.

melissa, How long did it take to see more definition with this? I too am having a hard time achieving more definition. Its coming but very slowly.

Hi Laura. When I started Catalyst I also was doing The Herbal Cleanse, which means I had to eat very clean. So in 10 days I lost 7 pounds. I felt the Catalyst on day one. It made me feel good. It gave me energy and a good sense of well being. I noticed my mucsles were getting rock hard solid within the first few weeks. And I was becoming cut and well defined like never before. I was also taking Advocares' Metabolic Nutritional System at this time and still today. I started it after my 10 day cleanse was over. Proper nutrition is key for optimal health and performance. Catalyst is something I will take for the rest of my life, and I speek very highly of it. If you're not intersted in vitamins you can take just Catalyst, but make sure you eat a good diet for best results.
Because we work our muscles so hard we need to make sure they get all the nutrients they need, and Catalyst does this.

I hope this helps.
Any more questions let me know. Also you might want to check out the endorsers. You will find they almost all of them take Catalyst. It's one of the top 3 sellers for Advocare, because it works so well.

Hi Melissa,
Since you work for the company you're talking about, I thought I'd go ahead and remind you of Cathe's forum guidelines:

It seems sort of odd to me that you don't outright mention that you work for this company when you make posts like the one in this thread.

Thanks Wendy, I appreciate the input. I'm just trying to share information about something I know that works. I didn't put that I was a member, because I'm not trying to sell the product. I am just sharing good information. It doesn't seem fair that I can't even mention Advocare products just because I am a member.

Thanks,
Melissa

We all want muscle definition and I don't think there is any new magic out there. Heavy/heavier lifting with enough recovery, clean eating and just enough cardio to burn fat and good genes. Now, this is a lot easier to say than do!! :)
