Getting it done for February 2015

Wow! It's February already! Thanks for getting us started, Belinda.

All of us are home today - everyone is called off school and I'm working from home. Yesterday was a "rest " day from schedule wo's but was a snow shovel kind of day. Had to to the rest this morning becasue it snowed all night. Thank goodness for the snowblower!

Today I'm starting STS. I think better prepared this time now that I've been watching my portions and macros much better than the "eating healthier" approach I usually tend to take.

This morning I finally finished my plan that I meant to do over the weekend.

Run 1 mile
RWH shoulders
Run 1 mile
RWH triceps
Run last mile to finish.

I noticed that after doing the weights and jumping to the TM alternating I really feel my upper.

Heidi - your workout today looks intense :) I like how you mix running with UB.

Good evening!

Started off STS with D3 - those conditioning drills at the end were a killer! I'm planning to do the 3-1/2 month rotation, but adding in an extra leg day to work the LB a bit more.

We got about 14" with this last storm. Temps dropping to less than 0* tonight, and a bit more snow expected tomorrow night. Looks like winter is really here.

This is my last week of the January rotation, then I plan on doing the XTrain/RWH rotation. Today I'll do REH Chest. Still trying to get my push up count up. Last time I could do 4 declines, but even the standards on the ground are hard and I go to my knees for some.
I sure do feel like I've seen good results from this rotation. How about anyone else?

Sherry- I hope you get some relief from the snow. Shovel Max is a viable workout.

Hi all!

Tonight was sprints - more like 800's. The legs were working rather well, considering D3 yesterday. Another 3-4" of the white expected tonight. Ugh! Our schools were one of the very few in the area that still had to go today. The superintendent grew up in Minnesota, so from his perspective, 0* cold and a foot of snow are no big deal. But hearing "everyone" else was off (and it was truly just ours and the neighboring high school in the entire metropolitan SE MI area that went), that really irked the kids bad.

Belinda - Great wo's today! Looks like you hit it all! Enjoy your son's b-day!

Sara - You are doing great on the push-ups. I always go down to my knees after a few on my toes. With time, we'll get that UB strength (and maybe a bit less weight for it to push up, too ;) )

Waving Hi to Heidi - I'm sure your wo today was more ShovelMax.

Today I'll be doing HIIT Lower body + abs1. I've got a long day with work and a 3 hour training after so I have my mega lunch ready to go.

Quick question - probably for Belinda: I've been meticulously tracking my eating on MFP. Do you think the fat grams for ground meat, like jenny o 93/7 ground turkey are too high? I always drain the fat after I brown it. I'm struggling to get my fat grams down. It was in sale, so been using it quite a bit lately.

I'll BBL, but this was bugging me.

Sara - good job packing your food. I so don't envy 3 hours of training.

Thanks everyone! We had an amazing day at my son's birthday yesterday. Today I did SBF Tabata and I walked my dogs. Tonight I will do XT Bic & Tricps. I also went for a nice long walk this morning. Dogs loved it.

Sherry - I had the same problem on MFP. The the saturated fat was always high? What helped me, not to eat animal proteins with every meal. I be honest, I am not even counting calories at the moment. You are eating healthy proteins, don't worry. Do you eat a lot of greek yogurt? If so, cut some of that out. You really have to play around and add the food before you eat it. That helped me to get the fats down. Everything has fat, it doesn't matter what you eat :) If you eat or drink lots of dairy, that will spike up your fats too.

Didn't get in D1 this evening, so I'll try to double up tomorrow (with a run), otherwise shift my rest day from the weekend. Snow decided to come right at rush hour, which made my drive home sooooo long! Needed to cook/eat dinner when I finally did get home, and now after letting my food digest, it's now just too late.

Belinda - Wonderful that you enjoyed your son's birthday. I'm not eating animal protein's at every meal, but it's still high. I need to spend more time on the planning it all out. May take some time to play with it and get it where I want.

Sherry - Those unexpected things that make our plans meaningless...I'm glad you're flexible. Regarding your MFP counts, I use it too, but I mainly pay attention to the protein b/c our WOs are hard. I don't worry much about the fat macro b/c I eat very clean meats and I know when I'm eating fat. As long as you're eating a clean diet you should be fine. I just watch the protein b/c it can be hard to get enough. I do eat animal protein at usually 2 meals a day just for that reason.

Belinda- So glad you got to share your son's b-day. One of my kids is out of the house and I don't always get that anymore, so I think it's great just to have the time together.

Today is LIHI Back. I really like this workout. It's hard, but I can do it. Those concentration curls w/crazy 8s are killers though. I might try to squeeze in an X10 segment if I have time.

Today I will do XT Cardio Leg Blast and SBF Stretch.

Sherry - when I say animal product, I mean milk, yogurt, eggs , lunch meat and so on. Everything has hidden fats of some sort :oops: I played around and adjust my food for the day. Good job yesterday. I agree with Sara on the clean eating. I eat super clean and I also make sure I eat enough proteins.

Sara - I always have fun seeing and being around my kids. Good job yesterday.

Here we go again with snow! Argh I have really had enough of this stuff. Snowing today and mostly this coming weekend to Tues.

Not much getting done around here workout wise. Yesterday was spent on paperwork at home. Tues. was major catch up at work with orders
I couldn't get out on Monday due to the snowstorm

Well I am ready to WO at last! RWH LEGS HERE I COME! Then a short run after to loosen them up a bit before heading to work.

DONE! Oh my legs are like Jello! LOL! barely made it up the stairs from the basement. Well as for the run...I will have to do after work instead.
Walking too funny now as is! :)

Heidi - sorry about the snow. I took my dogs for a walk, my legs hurt from the cold. The cold went right through my jeans o_O And I couldn't turn around, lol. It sure is cold outside. Good job on the DOMS.

I didn't get in my run last night just too tired after work. Plus thinking about going down those stairs to the basement made my legs shake. LOL!

I have to get in a run this morning to loosen them up! So first thing is a 2mile run and then my upper body workout. That's the plan!

Sara: How are you doing today? Can you lift your arms? :)
