Getting Fit

Hello - I am currently studying at an FE College and I would like to get fit(er) - where shall I start? I am female and 18 years old. Any advice? The last exercise I took was riding the bike in my early teens!:)

Welcome to Cathe. She's away on vacation this week, so I hope you don't mind my jumping in here to help out.

When you ask for advice on "getting fit(er)," exactly what are your goals? Do you need to lose weight, tone up, build muscle?

If you are new to strength training & step aerobics, you might want to start with the Cross Train Express Series. This offers a wide variety of Cathe's step & strength training techniques. It keeps the step portions relatively simple (comparatively speaking--Cathe is pretty tough in the intensity & choreography) & the strength training is basic.

You may want to jump over to the open discussion forum here & post some questions to the ladies there. Be specific & you'll get AWESOME advice.
