Getnfit@38 Then and Now

Okay my turn to chime in here, Donna you are my idol. You've come so far and worked so hard and kept focused on your goal the entire time without losing sight. Granted, I've fallen off the workout wagon (just don't know what it is about the winter that makes me feel so sluggish) but this week I pulled out my tapes and popped them back into the VCR and told myself I've got to be like Donna, Ajock, AKirkland, Maribeth, Connie1, and everyone else from the educated crowd and push myself to stop making excuses or procastinating about why I don't have time or just don't feel like working out. I use to be an afternoon exerciser (my son was staying with the grandparents) but now that he's home again I've had to switch to early morning workouts (much to my chagrin I'm sooo not a morning person) but I know if I don't I won't have time to workout later in the day. So, I'll usually pop onto the forum here and read some of the posts and yours' and the others words of wisdom and encouragement and that's all the motivation I require. Thank you for being an excellent role model, and thank you to all the ladies on the forum for the support and encouragement.

RE: Sharon / Waterbabie . . .

I had the feeling I had a fellow A-jock in you!

I'm sorry you haven't found a good intense aqua class since your move. This is gonna sound arrogant as h-e-double-socks, but I have the feeling I'm one of maybe 10 aqua instructors in the country who believes in intensity in the water! Far, far too many aqua instructors are NOT in good strong physical shape and are incapable of, or ignorant of, doing what it takes to get a kick-butt workout in the water. It can be done - I've been doing it twice a week (4X per week '97-summer 2000) for almost 6 years now.

Lemme know if you want some tips on how to design your own personal aqua aerobics workout (obviously I'm partial to aqua over swimming) so you don't have to rely on a class! And thank you for your kind words!

Indeed, Donna!! You are extrememly inspirational! YOu have accomplished so much, and you should/ought to be proud of that. I can't add anything more to what the others have already stated so well. But, I just wanted you to know that I, too, look up to you, and I've been doing this fitness thang for 17+ years!

:D :D :D :D

Hi Donna! I am Jaime, i saw your story as well, I don't post over here alot (I moderate a different board), but I just wanted to say you are an inspiration!!

AND I just happened to pop over to Oprah.com when someone mentioned you and Cathe would be great on the show-and they are doing an upcoming show about weight loss!
Here is the link

that would be AMAZING to see a Cathe-ite and Cathe on the Oprah show!!!! I totally understand if you wouldn't want to do it, but what a fabulous way to solidify that you have made such an important journey!!!
:)

OOOOH I'd love to see you and Cathe on Oprah. Please consider it Donna.

AquaJock: I'd love to have a good water aerobics kick a$$ routine for when I go to the club and get into the pool. OK
