LAST EDITED ON Sep-14-01 AT 00:43AM (Est)[p]I was wondering how the Tae Bo II Advanced Get Ripped Workouts were. I dont have any other Tae Bo tapes to compare them to so maybe someone could compare their intensity level, music, etc to Cathe tapes in general.

Thanks,

Stacy

Stacy,
I see no one has answered you yet, probably because it's a tough question. Tae Bo is so different from Cathe, even from Cathe's kickboxing tape, it's hard to compare.
Tae Bo in general has just martial arts moves, with a few dance steps thrown in once in a while as a break. There is no complex choreography, but the workouts are intense because of the intensity of the kicks and punches. The music usually rocks (though I don't like the music in the Get Ripped series as much as some--it's still good, though). I find the Get Ripped tapes are more intense than the Tae Bo live tapes. Billy Blanks is very motivating (though in some tapes he can be a bit too evangelical for my tastes), and at his best in the Get Ripped series. If you haven't done any kickboxing before, Tae Bo advanced is NOT the place to start, though, since you should have a solid background.
Hope this helps a bit.

Ditto..

LAST EDITED ON Sep-18-01 AT 06:14AM (Est)[p]I feel the same way as Kathryn on this series. I have the whole live advanced set and actually like the Ripped series better..a tad more intense. I even enjoy the music in the Ripped series. It's not like the live series with the vocals but the I found the production of the Ripped instrumental sound track to be a little clearer and out infront more...I like that.

As far as the choreography..Kathryn nailed it. It's straight martial arts drills and if you haven't done a ton of kickboxing, you may find this too fast and a little unsafe. You would be best starting with an introductory KB tape.

Over all..I think this Get Ripped Series is some of the best Taebo out..but that's my humble opinion;-)
