Memorial Day weekend, and the official start of the summer season approaches, my fellow Jersey-ite..I hope you can catch a break at some point from editing for a little sand and surf time..not to mention those crabs, crabby Cathe...love that calendar pic of you!

I hope you enjoy some well-deserved rest and relaxation this holiday weekend and have fun in the sun with your precious boys! :) I appreciate all your hard work on STS but want you to enjoy life too. ;-) I love running on sand and wish I lived closer to a beach. I am looking forward to seeing a few Texas Road Trippers this weekend! :) Yippee! :7

There is no way under the sun (pardon the pun) I'd go to the beach on Memorial Day Weekend, it is simply way tooooo crowded, like Cathe said (very smart on your part, Cathe, to not brave it) I actually ask to work extra shifts on a weekend like this, it is much safer indoors, away from the traffic.

I am lucky enough to have the beach at my beckon call, why torture myself??

We must be insane because we'll be in Cape May for the weekend. My MIL lives in North Cape May, so at least we can stay out of the crowds for part of the time, LOL. We don't normally brave the crowds for a holiday weekend but we're being ultra-dumb this year, I suppose. I'm sure the crowds are going to be ultra-bad, with the awesome weather (FINALLY!) they've predicted.

It's still too cold for the Jersey shore. I don't get people who pack up all their stuff, sit in traffic, spend all that money on gas, food, lodgings, etc. so they can sit in their rooms shivering & playing board games! :p

The real Jersey shore season starts July 4th.......;-)
 
Normally, Laura, I would agree with you, but Cape May has exploded recently as the eastern wedding capital of the US, trailing only Vegas, and the hotel I work at is a big reason why...we have a 4 star restaurant on premises to go along with 36 guest rooms, and our location directly accross the street from the beach makes for busy times for us well before July 4, which is good, because there is no worse feeling than being bored at work, at least IMHO.

For the 2nd straight year, we should be in for great weather!! Great weather = happy hotel guests = a much better weekend for me as well!

Enjoy your weekend, if you get a chance, swing over to The Hotel Macomber and say hello, I work Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 3 pm until 10 pm!!
