Good Morning Girls :)

Today was KB from the 4 day split~ well you know that.;-) I did it with cardio first and then legs. A good workout, the low plane lunges were HARD! I used all the same weights as Cathe. Fun! Ab work was REALLY good! both in the kickbox and at the end. I will be feeling this later~ or tomorrow for sure:)

Gin~ Are you sore today? I'm not sure if I will be or not. Maybe from the plie squat work.? How was Bryan this morning:)

Marcy/Tracee~ I hope you had a good workout today. How did you use the dvd? as is or weights first?

Have a good one~
BBL,

Deanie--
Oopps! We must have started the thread at the same time. So read mine above. My chest is still a little sore, but not legs....surprised! I did DS 15 min. yoga instead today.

Good Morning Ladies!

I had trouble getting up this morning like Gin. Went to bed late and then got up a few times during the night. Got most of my workout in though. I did Shiva Rea's Yoga Shakti using the matrix and did the following:

Prana Yoga, Moon Salutations, Dancing Warrior 4 (basic vinyasa, chaturanga, up/down dog into warrior 1, 2 and reverse warrior), Standing Pose Flow 2 (this is a really tough standing sequence with some unique arm balances), shoulder openers, Backbend Flow 2 (I'm getting better with my backbends but she went all the way back on to her forearms which I'm not up to yet), supine poses, forward bends and twists (really liked these) and shavasana.

Deanie - For some reason, I had DOMS in my tris this morning. Maybe I'm feeling like you were after Chest & Back where I'm feeling it from the pullovers. Glad you liked Kickbox/Legs. I guess I'll have to try the low plane lunges. I agree both her ab routines are really good in this series.

Gin - Even 15 mins. is better than nothing. Hope you get a better night's sleep tonight.

Tracee - What did you do today?

Gin/Tracee: I liked Mel's Paso, Jennie's Rumba, Marie's Quick Step (I think this was her best routine so far) and both of Helio's numbers. I think Cameron and Jane will be in the bottom two. I won't predict who's going home because I think that's impossible now after last week. I agree with the judges - Jane just isn't exciting enough. She does all her dances the same way. I actually did like her first number but I feel like someone has to light a firecracker under her. She needs to sizzle, instead she's fizzling out.

Hi GMD!

Today was KB/Legs. I did the video as is but had to cut out the abs at the end because I needed to take a shower. I've already done that ab routine twice before so I wasn't too sad to skip it. I might try to get in some kind of ab work tonight though. I agree, the low pulse lunges were tough. I didn't like how we got into the position, it felt very unsafe to me even though she said they were doing everything to make sure it was safe. I also didn't like holding the barbell in front for the warmup squats. I just couldn't get it into a comfortable position. Other than that I liked the kickbox portion.

Deanie - enjoy your sports free weekends. I was a little lost last weekend and was a little lazy. My boys usually do basketball in the winter but my oldest isn't going to play this year. This will be my younger ds second year so he's still in the learning phase. Nothing too competitive yet.

Marcy - way to go on the measurements. Why is it so easy for you to lose inches in your waist? Arghh! Just kidding, I'm just jealous.

Gin/Marcy - DWTS - My favorites were Jennie and Mel. I didn't watch the second dance for Cameron or Jane, they just don't interest me all that much. I also missed Marie's first dance and I'm going to try to watch it on the computer because I noticed that she got high scores.

Have a fun chilly Tuesday. It's windy and 38 degrees here. Brrrrr!

Tracee

Hi Again!

Tracee - Thanks! I don't know if it's the case, but I've been trying to do more kickboxing and I think that might have helped. I still have a little gut though. Before I started exercising again, I always felt a few months pregnant. Now I always think about sucking it in. Over the weekend, I went through my closets and had two bags worth of clothes to be picked up. I was a size 10 at one point (even a size 12 at my biggest) so it felt good to get rid of those.

No need to watch Jane's second dance, it was worse than her first. Cameron's jive was okay (judges liked it though). Marie's is worth seeing. She looked great.

It's in the 50s here so it's not too bad.

Hi Again!

Today a friend told me that she has heard how good it is for women to lift weights, but she doesn't like the way it makes her look. I don't understand that. She is very tiny and develops muscles easily, but will avoid lifting weights. That is so funny to me.

Marcy--How much weight did you lose to go from a 12 to a 0?? I haven't thought about BBC anymore. Probably not. I like Cathe so much. I should just stick with her workouts.

Tracee--38 degrees? Brrrrrr is right! It will be interesting to see who goes tonight on DWTS.

Hi Deanie!

Hi Again!

Gin - I lost about 20 pounds but I think it's not only the pounds but the inches I lost. I think I'm finally realizing I'll never get below 120 without losing muscle mass so I've learned to be somewhat content even if I'm 124 or 125 as long as my measurements don't get out of whack. It sounds like your friend's afraid of bulking up. Maybe you could tell her just to do endurance workouts if she doesn't want to increase size or she could just do total body weight workouts to increase her strength and muscle mass without adding size.

I don't blame you for giving up on BBC. I'm glad I waited for everyone's reviews. They just don't sound like they're for me. Did you see that Cathe said she'd be making an announcement by the end of the week about future workouts?

I'm kind of sore in my lats and tris but I have to do upper body tomorrow so I don't do it two days in a row. I think either way I'm really going to be hurting tomorrow. Have you done Bootcamp yet? If so, how did you like it? It looked like fun to me but I haven't done it yet.

Marcy

Marcy--
You probably won't see this until tomorrow.
I told my friend that she should just lift light weights and she said that she gets very ripped even then. I've seen her in sleeveless things and she looked fine to me (certainly not like a body builder!). I think there are just some women that like the look of flat, straight limbs.

I did not see that Cathe will be making an announcement soon. Exciting!

I have done BootCamp and it was fun. During each drill, I kept thinking that it wasn't that tough and it was just fun and then in between the drills, my HR felt sky high. I must have been working much harder than I thought. I need to wear a HRM next time.
