full body workouts-one day in between or?

Mic

Cathlete
I know this question has been asked before, however, can anyone tell me whats the formula for full body workouts? Is it one day of rest in between or two? I can't remember. Thanks

My understanding is to put a day of rest (from weights, you could do cardio, stretching, yoga, etc.) in after working any body part with weights. So my opinion is one day if you feel good. If you're truely sore after one day, make it two.

For the most part you should do cardio or rest the day after wts. That also depends on how heavy you go. I think some people will do full body back to back but go heavy on lower body work and light on upper body work one day. Then the next do heavy upper and light lower body.

48 hours rest between working the same body part is the standard recommendation, whether you are doing full-body workouts or a spilt routine.

When I do full body workouts, my rotation looks something like this:
Day 1: full body weights
Day 2: interval cardio
Day 3: full body weights
Day 4: steady-state cardio
Day 5: cardio/weights circuit workout
Day 6: cardio
Day 7: rest/stretch

Thank you much. My body seems to stay leaner looking with full body workouts. I'm very short and when I go heavy I can have a tendency to look more "compact" for lack of a better word. Thanks, I wonder if Cathe ever has that problem?
