Full body GS mish mosh

Boybert

Cathlete
I wanted to spice up the GS and do something a little different, so I picked 3 exercises (w/ 3 sets each) from each body part and tacked on MM abs at the end. I did chest/tris, then back/shoulder/bis, then legs to keep from changing the DVDs a lot. It took just over an hour and it was awesome. I really feel the burn. I may change up which 3 exercises, along with which abs I pick to keep it interesting. Just a fun variation for anyone interested:

Chest
-Drop set pushups
-Chest press (flat bench)
-Flies (flat bench)

Tris
-lying extensions
-overhead press
-kickbacks w/ band

Back
-dumbbell reverse grip
-one armed rows
-T back squeeze

Shoulders
-Dumbbell overhead press
-Dumbbell lat raise
-Band lat & front raises

Biceps
-barbell curls
-concentration curls
-dumbbell curls w/ wrist turn

Legs
-barbell squats (w/bonus reps)
-barbell deadlifts w/ toes elevated & off of high step
-slow motion lunges

When you said 3 sets of each exercise, what about the band exercises? Did you go thru each exercise set 3 times in its entirety or do your own thing like say 3 sets of 12? I hope I'm making myself clear!

Thanks.

Debbie - I like this. I'm trying to get a rotation going doing full body workouts. Its kind of hard to do with Cathe's workouts. If I had the time and patience I'd make up my own workouts with segments of Cathe's workouts on DVD's. That takes a lot of time though.

So you did this in one session right? How long did it take you?

So, for each exercise, you do the 3 sets (ie 10-12 reps per set) that Cathe does. For example she does the flat bench chest press 3 times (w/ 12 reps I think) resting between each set. Does that make sense? Also, I just picked 3 exercises, so you can change up the 3 and add more band work, less, or whatever. You can create a number of these full body workouts by changing up the ones you pick. HTH!

Debbie, yes, I did it in one session. It took maybe an hour and five minutes I think not including the ab work I tacked on. Plus you can go even heavier since you are not doing ALL the exercises in the w/o. Very doable :)

I was actually specifically referring to the band exercises did you just run thru the band segment once as is like in the workout or did you go back and do the band segment two more times?

Thanks, again!

Just the amount Cathe does :)

Thanks for the GS mish mosh. I did it today. It was a nice change and it was fun picking the exercises I wanted. I felt I had a little more energy at the end so I did a few more exercises for legs. I liked it.
