Anyone ever heard of these bars that you are supposed to eat with a full glass of water before any 2 meals to make you feel full so taht you eat less?
I saw a commercial for them & they sound like a great idea, but I don't know any nutritional info...just wondering if anyone has any info or opinions.

The only thing I know is that DH and I also saw that commercial in passing and he said, "oh is this one of those Saturday Night Live fake commercials?" I have no idea what they are.

I'd wonder about the nutritional content. If you're going to eat something to keep you from eating too much of something else, make sure it's healthy.

Just a big glass of water itself (or starting the meal with a broth-based soup) can help you eat less at mealtime.

Another option is using some chia seeds and water. Chia seeds have a nutritional profile similar to (but better than) flax, and absorb about 7 times their weight in water. You could blend them in a drink, for example, or put them on oatmeal in the morning. I like these: http://anutra.com/

In my mind (and my experience), there's no such thing as an easy solution to weight loss. No pill or bar can substitute for eating healthy -- lots of veggies and lean protein, and cutting down portion sizes. And some of the FullBars apparently contain high-fructose corn syrup. If I'm going to have something that's ~170 calories and that's sweet, I'll have a piece of chocolate every now and then. I go for quality. ;-)

Hey, that's interesting about the chia seeds, Kathryn!
I've always been a flax girl, I'm going to have to check those out-- thanks! :)

Edited to say that I totally agree with Sue. I'd steer clear of the HFCS. I'd much rather have my little dark chocolate fix! :D

They sell them at my GNC, I just saw them there the other day.

I agree. When I finally got (semi) serious about changing my diet and started eating A LOT more vegetables and (mostly) lean protein it worked like a charm. I track everything and try to limit my daily calories to bodyweight x 10.

Weight loss made easy

Did anyone see on HSN/QVC the Sensa powders that you sprinkle on the food you eat and it's supposed to send a signal to your brain (hence, sensor) and trick your brain to send the "signal" that you're full...or something like that? WHAT NEXT!
