Frustrated with skincare

I am looking for some much needed advice. I have been using for sometime the Le Mirador skin care line (which I so completely love...my skin has never looked better). The only problem is that apparently the makers of this line of products have decided to work on a new line of products, but until it's available I have no way to purchase the things I use because they have apparently been discontinued. I definintely can't wait until they are offering their new line which I guess will be sometime this year, but no one knows when. I am desperately looking for some skincare suggestions. My skin can sometimes be prone to breakouts. It tends to be oily in the summer, but sometimes it feels a little dry. I am looking for moisturizing and anti-aging for sensitive skin. Anyone use a product they absolutely love? Thanks.:D

I received some great recommendations for Paula's Choice from people on this forum. I have combination skin prone to breakouts, so I started with the kit for that skin type. I also added the AHA 8% at night, and use the BHA 1% in the morning. I have been using it for a couple months and my skin texture and moisture level is so much better, and I am having fewer breakouts.

Here's a second recommendation for Paula's Choice. I have very sensitive skin, especially to fragrance, and her stuff is *fabulous*. I've been thrilled with everything I use. I regularly use her BHA 2% gel, 5% Benzoil Peroxide lotion, sunscreen for oily skin, AHA lotion. I also have her carbon mask for when I'm feeling particularly oily, and her daily moisturizing lotion for oily skin for when I do need a little extra moisture now and again. I really love her products.

Upon Paula's recommendations, I use:

just about any sensitive facial wash like Clean & Clear sensitive or Neutrogena Sensitive a.m./p.m. $4

Alpha Hydrox a.m./p.m $10

Stridex Benzoyl Peroxide Power pads a.m./p.m. $6

Olay daily regenerating serum or Total Effects w/sunscreen a.m./p.m. $17

I have combo skin, breakouts and am 35 facing wrinkles. Since using these products my skin looks more even, pores look smaller, lines less severe and very few blemishes. The ones I do get are at TTOM and are hormonal. Check out her site at www.cosmeticscop.com for skincare info, tips, products and reviews.

It took me many years to find the right combo and I LOVE the prices!

Best wishes!

I was having problems with my skin (oily skin, frequent breakous) and switched from Clinique to Neutrogena products. My skin has cleared and the makeup is wonderful. I would suggest that you go to the Neutrogena website and answer some questions about your skin. Then, the website will advise you on the right products for your skin type.

Good luck to you.

I use products from Paula's choice also (oily/acne prone skin) and my skin has never looked better. It has cleared up and no more cystic acne either. I have tried everything and never been so satisfied with skin care products. I really didn't know there was a skin care line that could be this effective. I can't say enough about the products. After researching her website and looking at her skin care kit for acne/oily prone skin types this is what I came up with and what has been successful for me:
Skin Balancing Cleanser for normal to oily/combination skin (a.m. & p.m.)
Skin Balancing Toner or normal to oily/combination skin (always a.m. & sometimes p.m.)
2% Beta Hydroxy Acid Lotion for all skin types but especially effective for oily skin (alywas p.m. sometimes a.m. too after toner)
Blemish Fighting Solution (when needed)
Skin Blancing Moisture Gel for normal to oily/combination skin (a.m. & p.m. in areas that need it)
When I first started using Paula's Choice, I used all prodcuts a.m. & p.m. - got some dryness from the hydroxy acid or blemish solution and reduced usage to one time a day or when needed and begin using the moisture gel. LOVE these products!

I really like the Vitamin C line from Body Shop. Using The Time Release Capsules regularly REALLY improved the quality of my skin. If you tend to break out (like me), it does wonders for reducing/eliminating the scarring.

I've spent a lot of time looking at Paula's website and I am so excited to try her products. Thanks to everyone for the responses. I love this forum. It's so nice to be able to have somewhere to ask general questions and receive advice from people who have tried and love certain products. Cathe is so great for having an open discussion forum. Thanks again for the recommendations.:) :)

I just returned from my dermatologist after having all my moles checked. (I grew up in FL and never used sun screen) Anyway, she has beautiful skin and I asked her what she recommends and she said she believed in using basic simple stuff and that she uses cetaphil. Cleanser and moisturizer, and it is inexpensive compared to alot of the stuff on the market today.

P.S. Always wear sun screen!

Not to sound like an infomercial, but I am also a huge fan of Paula's Choice products. I've been using her products since they launched and my face has never looked better. They have excellent customer service as well.
