I use 30# for bench press (flat and incline) in S&H and 25# for flys (flat and incline). I love that completely fried feeling when I'm done. Of course - it all depends on the speed. If Cathe is going at a quicker pace, then I'd have to vote for the challenge that I'm willing to take on. Cannot WAIT till these come out.

I use 30 lbs for incline presses. I was up to 35 lb dumbells & I decided it was ridiculous for me to try to keep increasing my strength w/my chest routine. That's one body part where I am NOT trying to build muscle! Not an attractive look for someone as flat chested as I am. :p

I voted for no. 1. I was waiting for something like this type of w/o. It motivates me to lift even heavier. Two days ago I used 30lb dbells for S&H chest bench.

Every now & then I do shoulder presses with 30's dbells.

I voted "Zoiks, that looks really hard, but I can't wait to try", just because I like the word "Zoiks!" ;)

Seriously though, it looks tough and I'm really looking forward to a challenege. :)

IDK, I probably could do 30, but I always feel like my chest gets worked way more than my back, for example, when I do Cathe. anyone else feel like that? Like when I do GS chest, I only do 2 sets of the flat presses, just b/c I feel like 3 is overdoing it.

I voted "No way in H E double hockey sticks am I ready for that". I just got up to 20lbs for bench press and 15lbs for flyes. And that was just last night!!

I love working my chest, but do not want to get that look where I look like I work my chest. Does that make any sense?

I'm in the double hockey sticks category. BUT! I'll try my damndest to get as high as I can by the time those videos come out, so the competive part of me doesn't get (too) traumatized! In a few weeks, I'll be able to guage when I can realistically use 30 lbs for dumbbell presses (on slow reps).

RE: From the blog...Cathe does an incline press with 30...

I voted for the Zoiks one! LOL

I currently use 20's for chest press and 15's for flies. I want to try 20's for flies next time I work chest. I would love to be able to get up to 30's!!! I'll work towards it and see what happens!}(

One more thing, I notice that I seem to be the minority in wanting my chest to LOOK like I lift heavy! I have some definition in it already and LOVE it! I have an average size chest but no cleavage so I think the definition in the upper area looks sexy when I wear a lower cut shirt since I strike out in the cleavage area!:)

OMG...I thought it was 30 total, not 30 each...guess I should have looked at the blog first. Hmmmm....that's a lot. Maybe 20-25 for me.

Haydee,

I feel challenged enough when I go with 25's for shoulder press, but then again I remember them killer arms of yours from previous road trip. lol

I have a set of 15's at home with one 20 (stupid me didn't the other one, what was I thinking). While I was vacation I did lat rows at 25lbs. A little sore the next day and thank goodness for the jacuzzi. When I workedout at the gym I did 20's. Great inspiration and aspirations to work towards. Hopefully I trade in some of my workout stuff for heavier weights. Annette

I do #25's on bench press and am working up to #20s for flyes. Also, you're not alone, Wendy, I'm with you on 'wanting' to look like I lift heavy!

and the 62 pound barbell row! I don't think I can do that much weight, but I am certainly up to the challenge- eventually anyway:7

RE: From the blog...Cathe does an incline press with 30...

The last option makes me LOL! :+

I choose the first but I'm somewhere between #1 and #2. I've used 30s for chest press before and a few times even 35s but didn't get too many reps. I'm most comfortable without a spotter at 25s. I have used 30s before on strong days during the Gym Style workout.

I agree that it will make me work harder if Cathe's weight is heavier.

RE: From the blog...Cathe does an incline press with 30...

I'm up to 35s for this, but I do this at the gym. Knowing Cathe she will do it in a way that will put me horizontal in no time flat...so I am ready, baby. Bring it.

RE: From the blog...Cathe does an incline press with 30...

I am of the "zoiks" category as well. I am really strong in my triceps, biceps and chest. But have never really used anything over 20 pounds for chest-I am really "gifted" in this area, and have always felt strange working my chest with heavy weights because of this. But every once in awhile its good to challenge your limits-if not physically, than mentally right? I like to go heavy with tri's, and shoulders though, these muscles seem to respond best with heavier weights-at least for me. Back too, but those bent over rows with 60 pounds kinda scare me!;( They hurt my low back, so maybe I will have to modify with a lat pulldown, or perform this particular exercise at a 45 degree angle.
Its exciting though isn't it? Cannot wait to get back in the game!:7

RE: From the blog...Cathe does an incline press with 30...

I am looking forward to the challenge in a Really big way!!! Right now with S&H I do the bench press with a 55# barbell, I never thought to go to 30#dumbell. Don't know why. Sometimes when I lift heavy I surprise myself with HOW heavy. Anyway, I too am in the "I don't want to workout my chest too much" camp.

RE: From the blog...Cathe does an incline press with 30...

I also voted, Zoik's :)

I am only up to 20 pd DB for bench and 15's for flyes.
Maybe in the future, but not too worried about it.

Now, How come we can always go heavier w/ the barbell? For Chest I can do 50 pds... (only w/ a spotter though)
