Friday Fun - Grandpiggy pictures

As some of you know, my Guinea Pig Dharma surprisingly gave birth to a little fuzzball on Monday. Having not much else to do this morning cuz' of the snow, I held a little photo op. Thought they were too cute not to share!

This is baby Karma right after being born on Monday. Yes, they are born ready to go!

And this was her at 2 days old:

And her she is today in her first glamour shots. I think she is a natural model. ;)

Oh, how cute! Amazing that they are born with all that hair and "ready to go"! Thanks for sharing Liann!

How cute!

And born not only 'ready to go,' but camera ready! (she's quite a little poser, the new one!)

Both mama and baby are adorable! My goodness, it makes me want to visit the pet store! :7

Oh she is so cute. Love the mom's hair sytle. I can't believe they are born ready to go. Other small animals, like rabbits, rats and mice are born with their eyes closed so I had no idea that guineas are born the same way. It amazes me the things I learn on this sight.

Thanks for sharing.

Jean - Not only is she totally ready to go, she is already stealing food from her mom and aunt. I gave her mom a little yogi treat today and the baby swooped right in, grabbed it away and ran off with it. Guess they have a strong survival instinct! ;)

By the way, Karma's Aunt Angie is feeling a little neglected, so here is a pic of her too.

OMG Liann!!! How freakin' adorable is that!!!!! I see you arleady named her so I imagine you intend to keep the baby? Will she be able to live in the same cage with mamma indefinately or will they need to be separated?

Wendy - as long as she doesn't mysteriously grow some extra parts down below (we are about 95% sure she is a she), then she can keep living with her mommy and aunt. I just may need to expand their cage a little. ;) If she had turned out to be a boy, I may have had to find another home for her. :(
