OK, everyone - which is better for you:

(1) Fresh Squeezed OJ with a calcium supplement of your choice;

or

(2) Tropicana's "Calcium Enriched" OJ with 350 mg. of Calcium already in it.

Please advise.

RE: Fresh Squeezed OJ vs. Tropicana

I'd pick a whole orange over both of them. You get the fiber and other nutrients that are lost when the orange is juiced, and juice packs quite a calorie punch vs. satiety.

If I had to choose beween the two, I'd think the o.j. with a calcium supplement of your choice would be better, as with the calcium-added juice, the calcium might sink to the bottom of the container, even with shaking.

What is better is the one that you will actually ingest!

Stand squeezing oranges? No thanks! I drink the Tropicana. But then, I eat an orange a day too. They are fab in Winter, at their juiciest.

Do what fits into your lifestyle/budget/time allowance.

My experience has been that the added vitamin is noticable after a couple of glasses. To use up what I had, I started mixing it with regular oj. I won't purchase the calcium enriched version again. I don't do fresh squeezed, I just buy premium-not from concentrate.
