Have you ever put on your favorite music and just start stepping away in any direction ? Just plain ol fun ! I did this today and actually enjoyed cardio for a change.
My DH does this all the time. He used to run, but his knees are too old for that. He has a hard time following some of the more complicated footwork, so he'll pop in a Siefeld DVD, slap on the HRM and just start stepping.
Oh, man, I thought I was the only one doing this! I put on music I like, very loud, then pop a DVD in the player and watch with captions only, no sound except the music. It appeals to my multitasking personality. The time flies by, and I work up a good sweat. It's nice to know I'm not the only one.
I do this to round out an hour of cardio-- say a DVD has 45 minutes of cardio, I freestyle for the remaining 15 minutes. I have CD's with the appropriate BPM's that I put in the player for this. I used to teach, so I make up routines in my head or go over my favorite Cathe routines.
