a co-worker of mine wants to give hers away but i cant decide if i should get it or not. would it fit under my bed? is it heavy? i would have to move it from under my bed to my living room. will that be too much of a hassle?

It might fit under your bed. I'd say it's about 50 lbs. It's a solid piece of equipment and I liked the workouts -- though they are far different than what we are used to -- but overall, I felt it was best used as an add-on, and it just didn't fit that easily into my weekly routine. The schlepping back and forth *is* a hassle, IMO. My barre is now in storage.

But hey, it it's free, why not try it?

I use mine to hang my exercise bands on!x( Oh and I stretch my legs on the bar part, but the workouts drove me nutso, too boring or something. But if its free?? Well, go for it!

Hi Laura,

When the Fluidity bar is folded up, the frame is 43 inches long and 33 inches high. If you leave it fully assembled and fold it up, the widest part of the frame measures slightly over 5 inches and the (removable) pad adds an additional 2-1/2 to 3 inches in width because it lays against the lower bar and is pushed out to one side. You can do more disassembling and get it down to 4 inches in width if necessary. If your bed has that kind of clearance, then it will fit. A lot of beds, though, have some support in the center so it isn't all open space under there. You might want to check that out. The bar weighs 55 pounds, but it is on wheels so once you get the thing out from under the bed and upright, you can just roll it wherever you want. It would be a hassle, but doable.

If it's free, I'd say go for it and then worry about where you will put it. It really doesn't take up too much space just laying against the wall, or maybe you could slide it into a closet.

Lucky you!

thanks for your help. i'm going to check it out at her apartment first. its a funny situation. she bought it for $230 it doesnt fit in the new apartment they moved to. plus she doesnt want her husband to know she bought it without talking to him first. so i have to pick it up on a day he's not there.

Oh, definitely get it! I sold off the DVDs, but the barre is great, solid piece of equipment. Love using it with my other workouts.

that would be awesome since i have p90x+. i also have a door gym which i'm always afraid it will ruin the door frame or colapse.

laura.

Laura, I say "take it"! It is really a nice piece of equipment, heavy duty...I sometimes have carpel tunnel problems with my wrists and it works great to do push-ups against. I just back my feet up behind me and put all my weight in my arms on the bar and feel the exact same muscles used for push-ups. It's also great for using for support in Cathe's workouts where you use a bar or chair for balance such as the kickbox drills. It's great for any standing leg work, inner, outer or hamstring. I say GO FOR IT!
