For those who do Pure Strength Shoulders and HSTA

BAM

I absolutely LOVE PS shoulders which runs about 10 min. but packs a lot in that time. I was wondering if you think your shoulders could get in good shape just using this. I'm looking to tone and define, not bulk up.

I'm also wondering something similar in High Step Training. I like the premix for cardio and lower body which is 26 min. and am curious if doing this segment consistently would define my legs. Any thoughts on these?

TIA!

I love PS shoulders too. It remains my favorite shoulder workout despite all of the new ones. I think it is because I love the seated clean and press so much. In fact, the whole PS series might very well be my favorite as a whole.

I believe you can get your shoulders in shape using just PS. Of course the key is to use weights that are heavy enough for you. Every time I ask myself a question like "Is this enough?" or "Does lying floor leg work do anything?" I always come back to the response that if it wasn't enough or useful, Cathe wouldn't create and sell it.

That said, I will mention that I add a few sets of wide grip upright rows to the PS shoulder workout. I have trouble with my form in side laterals and feel that doing the rows helps me put more emphasis on the side delts. The other thing I do for side delts is do the lateral raises one arm at a time to try and really focus on feeling the muscle.

I don't have HSTA. But when I htink of other cardio leg circuits my guess would be that they will define hyour legs up to a point if you are new to this training and go heavy enough for you. But the legs have a lot of muscle and for me, after a certain point, you really have to hit them long and hard to get any gains. Which is what has brought me to the point of trying to add on leg floor work. Think I'll make a new post.

Hope this helps. Jeanne

Thanks so much, Jeanne, for your response. I did GS Back, Shoulders, and Biceps this evening and was thinking of adding the band work onto PS Shoulders when I have time. I think for me, this will take it up a notch. I'm glad to hear that you like PS Shoulders as much as I do. Thanks for the tips. I love finding workouts that I love so much! :)
