??? for the ladies beyond a certain age....

Ok, someone plz tell me. Have you noticed that after a certain age we begin to sweat in unlady like areas? Specifically under the breast and in the folds of the groin ;( I live in a very hot, humid climate. But then again I have lived in this climate for more than three decades. Is this age? I reached for the talcum powder more than once after a shower to stay dry. My next thought is to rinse w/ cold water before exiting shower. I know this is personal. Just wondering if it's normal.

Um, yes!!! I must be past that "certain age" as well, LOL. Actually, I'll share a little secret with you since I sweat like a crazy person. I get the Dove Invisible( Secret makes one too) Antiperspirant/deoderant that doesn't leave those white marks ( I don't have it in front of me right now, but they make them so they don't streak clothes and such)and I roll some under the breast. I actually have never tried in the groin area, but now that you mention it I might try that too!! I get strange looks from DH when I do this, but it really helps keep the sweat from dripping from under the cleavage somewhat. You might want to give it a try!!

Okay, I can't believe I'm going to admit this but I must be past that age, too. (I'm only 35, though!) Anyway, it's started within the past year and I never figured age had anything to do with it.

Thanks, Vicki, for the suggestion. I'm going to try that.

Well, that "certain age" you speak of must be 25, because I have been this way for a long time, and I'm only 29. I'm not sure it's age-related at all, but weather-related. Let's face it - it's been HOT! x(

Ummm, I am 25 years old, and I sweat in all of those places too. I am a 34DD, so I can understand the boob area. But I also sweat *down under* and have for as long as I can remember. It is especially bad in the heat and humidity of the summer.

I use the Clear and Dri stuff-it blocks the sweat completely-just do not use it after you shave because it will sting like crazy. I use it twice a week, and it really helps control the wetness.

I use Dove too! And use it on the groin area, right after I shave, it helps control wetness and stuff, plus it eliminates those yuk red bumps you can get in the bikini area!

I feel so much better now! Maybe it's not age related at all. Although I AM AT THE STAGE when keeping cool is a full time job. Thanks so much for sharing the solutions. I plan to try it out right away!!

Drysol is a very handy prescription anti perspirant for those with persistent sweaty problems.

I hope this doesn't offend anyone but this reminds me of a show I was watching the other day. It was Kathy Griffin doing stand up. She was talking about how she sweats in weird places and she had an important meeting at one of the major networks. So she said she put a bunch of toilet paper in the back of her pants for the (crack) area  and went into the meeting and felt confident because she knew she would stay dry. Then she left the meeting, feeling like it went well and discovered the wad of toilet paper was gone. She said she never figured out where she lost it but never heard back from that network again. :p :+ She's hilarious!

This is a funny topic, but on a serious note, Fach, please don't make the mistake of assuming that everything that happens to you is caused by age. At the age of 60 my Mom started feeling very fatigued. She assumed it was age, didn't mention it to the doctor, and retired from her job. She later found out that she was severely hypothyroid and after she started taking synthroid was her old self again. There's something about just chalking it up to old age that makes people not look any further, when there may be good solutions. Okay, I'm climbing down off my soapbox now.

(I've never been much of a sweater, and I still don't sweat much even after 50+ years.)
