Hi Liz,

Not Dani, but I think a package of Oreos is 16oz. for a small pkg, 20oz. for a larger one.

Hope they turn out good. I just sent this recipe to my mother-in-law and sister-in-law.

Oh yeah, I'm gonna make up a bunch of these Sunday. I live next door to our fire dept, I have a party Sunday night & a party Wed. night, so I'm gonna try to make enough for all 3!

How cool! I believe Erica is correct! I will be making them this weekend too!!
Let me know how it goes!!!

Tips!

I posted this on the other thread, but wanted to make sure you saw it!

They are STILL talking about the Oreo Balls on my wedding planning forum.

Here are some tips from one of the girls!! I'll quote her here!

"Here are a few tips from when I made the infamous Oreo balls on Wednesday:

-I used a blender to crush the Oreos and it worked fine (about 10-15 Oreos at a time). You need to keep pulsing until the consistency is really fine, like dirt!!

-I found it pretty hard to get the cookie and cream cheese well-blended with a spoon and even a fork (pastry blending technique) probably because I didn’t let the cream cheese soften for long enough. When I gave up on the fork and used my hands to knead the batter, it blended wonderfully

-for the melted chocolate coating, I used a Nestle white chocolate baking bar. I followed the directions on the package for melting—you melt it in the microwave along with a Tablespoon of shortening. The consistency was perfect and it was delicious.

Thanks ChiRuby--this is now one of our favorite treats! I think we only have 4 left in the fridge!"

RE: Tips!

This is going to sound like a stupid question, but do you crush the cookies with the "cream" inside, or do you remove it and then blend with the cream cheese?

Hi Linda,

Crush the cookies with the creamed filling inside. Then blend the crumbs with the cream cheese.

Have fun!
