? for fans of Rhythmic Step

Hello educated crowd! I've had Rhythmic Step for awhile, but I previewed it yesterday for the first time. All I can say is how am I supposed to learn all that choreography:-wow ? It looks really difficult. I'm going to watch this tape all week so I can learn at least the first 2 sections. My question to all the fans of this tape is how many times did you have to do it to get it perfect? I'm not choreo-challenged but I prefer my tapes with moderate choreography instead of complex. I bought this one because I love Cathe's cueing and I'm getting used to her choreography. I don't want to do this tape for a whole month to get it right. I just want to read the experiences you've had with this tape. Thank you.

once you get the hang of this tape the way it flows is so awesome!!! it took me about3-4 times to feel really comfortable doing it. i still have alittle trouble at the end with those hop up shuffles on the board but i think it's just because i am tired. all in all if you are a fairly experienced stepper and like not doing the same thing 20 times and like beyond basic choreography then i think you will really enjoy doing this tape. and one last thing: this tape has some of the best music i have heard.

For me, I found that it was easier to do than it looked once I just dove in and did it. Even the Challenge at the end was no problem once I did it about twice. Try it, it really is fun!

I never read directions or listened to them as a child, and it is no different as an adult. Instead of previewing it before I did the workout, I just got my step out and turned it on (what was I thinking :-hmmm? I was all over the place, and I got frustrated, but then just tried to get a few moves down (even if I had to stop, rewind, and playback a few times). Oh, and the rhythmic step challenge was very complex (I didn't understand where the heck these moves were coming from). The good news is that when I did the workout a 2nd time, I got every darn move down-no mistakes :). I was so thrilled-of course I told my husband since he was the only one around, and he said,
"good":-rollen. Bottom line is you will get the moves, don't give up-it's a great workout!

I'm choreo impaired, so if I can get it, anyone can! It took me a good 5-6 times to get it, but learning it became my mission and I did at least parts of it daily for a week or so until mission accomplished. I still mess up occasionally, but I don't sweat the little stuff. When you start to get frustrated, press eject and move on to something else.

I had to watch it a few times and then do it a bunch with a lot of messing up before I got it. Now I do it without messing up. It's one of my favorate tapes. I think I would have learned quicker if I did one section at a time first then put it all together. It is so worth learning. It's really fun. My heart rate is up there from the beginning to end.

I had to do it probably six times. I still forget parts when I don't do it for awhile, and some parts I'll never get on the same leg as Cathe, so I just improvise.

I made good progress by doing something I did not enjoy at all: Putting it on slow-mo and doing the tough parts over and over until I had it. Every few days I'd work on another segment.

Another thing that helped me was noticing they do it on a shorter step! Some of those knee-kick-knees will land you on your face if you use a higher step. That helped me.

Sometimes it frustrates me when Cathe and the girls don't stop to help me learn a step, they just smile and carry on like they don't care. Sniff.

The complexity is what keeps it interesting, like everyone says!

I love this workout with a passion. I've been known to watch it just for the fun of it! Yes I know I'm weird.

I am choreo-challenged too, big time. I previewed it I believe 3 times, then I just started doing it. I had to rewind a lot & do over, but I find you never know which steps are going to come easily & which ones are going to stump you until you try them. When I got to a move that stumped me I rewound & watched it as many times as necessary until I figured out what they were doing!

I learned the warm-up first & then part 1, took about 4 tries. After that, the rest came rather easily.

Believe me, if I can do this workout anyone can with a little effort! It is SO worth it! Good luck,
Ruth :)

You know, I have watched Rhythmic step just for the fun of it too! I'm glad I'm not the only one :) It took me about three times to master it, although I still fall off the board sometimes when I am doing the shuffle thing in the third section. When I previewed it I thought I would never be able to do it. I have learned that watching the tapes doesn't always give you clear expectations. I thought IMAX would be boring (HAH!) I love this tape and it is worth the effort.

RE: Thank you everybody!

Hi there! After reading all the replies what I'm going to do is watch the video a couple of times before trying it. The good thing is that I can always compensate for missed steps (I'll do knee lifts or something hehe :7). I remember feeling like that when I first previewed Interval Max and now I rarely miss a step. Oh and another thing let me join the club of women that watch exercise videos just for the heck of it. LOL!!! When I can't sleep at night I watch the yoga videos that I've never done so I can fall asleep fast (HA!) But with Cathe I have to watch the videos a couple of times so I can prepare mentally before attempting them. I will cross my fingers with RS though I know it's not easy but if I practice it'll become easier with time.

RE: Thank you everybody!

Lauren & Rose, thanks for letting me know I'm not alone...my husband just laughs & shakes his head!
