For Debbie, Fitness Guru

hey Debbie, Thought I'd call you guru rather that a freak because I think you are more of a guru rather than a freak. I hope I've spelt guru right!

Anyway, ..... I just wanted to have a gush and share with you and everyone else who are doing your rotations. I PUSHED myself today, heavier weights (heavier than Cathe) and it was awesome! At times I thought I was going to be sick! BUt I wasn't and took a little longer rests than Cathe to recover. You are RIGHT! Not that I for one minute doubted you, but I was timidly going up in weight for one set, or for half a set or not at all, just sticking to the same weight as Cathe. (I go heavy for legs always) Today was the first push for upper body! WOW.

I'd really be interested in reading your story too, I thought I saw you had a fitness trail once but it seems to have gone. anyway, enough of this!! I just wanted to say, to anyone not sure, TRY THE HEAVY! ITS AMAZING, just as good a buzz as an Imax.

Thanks

Andrea

Just a quick and probably obvious question. When going heavier in weight, I have found sometimes Cathe is too quick in rep count. So I take it, its still just as effective to slow the counts down and try to do maybe 8 - 10 reps?

Thanks Debbie.

Andrea

Hi Andrea,
I just got done typing up my fitness story and something happened and I lost it all!!! OMG! I am so mad!!!

I don't have time to retype it, so I will when I get a chance.

I'm glad to hear you are liking the heavy lifting. There is nothing like it!

And yes, you can slow down the counts Cathe does in her workouts. I also take longer rest periods to recover when I go heavy. Especially with Gym Style and Slow & Heavy.

Man, I'm so pissed that I lost all that!!! ARRRGGGGG!!!!!

I think theres a fault on this site as everyone is always complaining about losing stuff! happens to me a lot too. I'd appreciate your story though! it would be great. Oh yeah, I again went up a bit in weight yesturday, for my upper body workout. I'm gruntin' and graonon' and psssting! x( throughout the workout! Whew! And it was fun! Although tough stuff!

Thanks so much, you are fantastic, you are now inundated with requests, for help, busy girl! But thats reflection on your guruness (such a word???) who cares you know what I mean.

Andrea

Hi Debbie, Hopefully you will see this. i didn't want to start up a new thread. If you don't get back to me I'll start up a new thread. LOL.

I hope Im not waffling on to myself!! :)

Debbie I've been thinking and I now have a coupla qus, hope you don't mind.

In your rotations you never seem to use running as cardio. Is there any reason for this?

You've probably answered this next one a quadzillion times, I just coudn't find it anywhere. Why do you not work the abs daily?

Why are you "cutting" at the moment is that just because you think you need to for summer or are you competing somewhere? Just interested.

Did you ever managed to re do the "Debbie Guru to me (thats me)Story"? I'm still really really interested.

Once again, Many many thanks,

Andrea.

Hi Andrea!
In my rotations I always keep Cathe's workouts in them because that's what this forum is. But you can substitute any type of cardio with any of the step workouts that are in my rotations. For instance, if I have Step Blast you can do a Cardio Coach workout or an iTread workout. Just as long as you do some sort of cardio workout. You can even run outside if you want.

I don't work abs every day for two reasons:
1. It is not necessary. They should be treated like every other muscle group. Training them once or twice a week is enough. You can overtrain your abs just like any other muscle.

2. Because I lift so heavy I'm always engaging my abs to do the movements. That alone is an ab workout.

No, I'm not competing anywhere. I just like bulking in the fall/winter and cutting in the spring/summer to see what I can do with my body. It's just fun for me. Plus I like to look really cut in the summer.

I will write up my story. It's really not all that interesting. LOL! Maybe today at lunch I will have time.
