For '04 (or '05 if Cathe has baby #3) - The Max Series

Hi/Lo Max - 40 (or 45) min. of intense hi/lo, some dancy moves, some athletic moves. Finishing with a core/ab routine.

Athletic Moves - this would be a cardio workout featuring the med ball and would consist of sports flavored moves like basketball jumps, speed skaters, ski hops, etc. It could also incorporate soem lower body moves, such as explosive lunges, explosive plies, plyo squats while you toss the med ball, etc. No upper body circuits. Finish with a med ball ab routine. (Kind of like Boot Camp, but more cardio oriented).

Upper Body Max #1 chest, shoulders, triceps - this would be 2 workouts doing HEAVY upper body work using older, stand-by moves (kickbacks, bench press) and newer moves (inverted shoulder presses, flies with legs at a 90 degree angle) 2 to 3 sets per exercise done in a controlled manner. Somewhere between Pure Strength and Slow and Heavy.

Upper Body Max #2 back, biceps, and core - this would be 2 workouts doing HEAVY upper body work using older, stand-by moves (bicep curls, bent over rows) and newer moves (preacher curls, supermans on ball) 2 to 3 sets per exercise done in a controlled manner. Somewhere between Pure Strength and Slow and Heavy.

Interval Mix Max - this would be:
12 to 15 min consisting of 3 hi/lo intervals.
12 to 15 min consisting of 3 kickboxing intervals.
12 to 15 min consisting of 3 step intervals in typical torturous Cathe fashion.

Cardio and Weights II
Instead of step and upper body circuits, this workout would be step and lower body circuits.

Thanks Joanna! I really love using the med ball and I LOVE the cardio only premix of Boot Camp, but it is so short. A longer workout like this premix would be like a dream for me!

Jillybean,

You come up with the best ideas! Cathe should hire you to do this job directly: Rotation specialist. Your duties would include ideas for new series, premixes and rotations. Of course, you would conduct market research using us--your forum buddies.

I agree with your suggestions.

Cathy

Duh, I forgot to add another suggestion - an all kickbox step workout. This would be great! It could incorporate step/kickbox moves and floor moves (ice breakers, sequential power kicks), etc. I love the step kickbox from Circuit Max, CTX Power Circuit, and Step, Jump, and Pump so a full 40, 45 min. would be great!!!!!!!

Another idea for Imax III:
3 hi/lo intervals
2 floor kickbox intervals
2 step kickbox intervals
3 step intervals

And I LOVE the idea of heavy, serious weight training. Another thing that might be cool is a 5 day split with a brief but intense cardio before hand. Something like:
#1: Slow and Heavy chest work and a 20-25 min min intense step workout
#2: Slow and Heavy back work and a 20-25 min intense hi/lo workout
#3: Slow and Heavy shoulder work and a 20-25 min interval workout
#4: Slow and Heavy bicep work and a 20-25 min intense kickbox workout
#5: Slow and Heavy tricep work and a 20-25 min intense plyo drill workout
#6: Then one workout that would be all legs or a leg/cardio circuit.

The cardios could be combined together on the premixes for those that like to do weights and cardio on different days.

Oh, I wasn't trying to insinuate anything! I was just suggesting workouts for this year, or next year depending on whether or not she has another child. I have no idea if she plans on this or not. Sorry for the confusion!
