Foods you're too scared to try?

The Sushi Virgin thread gave me the inspiration for this:

Does anyone besides me have foods they think will taste so horrible that they've never tried one little bite?

For me, eel sushi will not happen nor will Tofutti "ice cream" or pigs feet or tripe.

Any other cuisine scaredy-cats out there?

Haggis - I have Scotish friends who relish this stuf......I think I would eat dirt before that mess.

I also do not eat cheese unless the rennet and enzymes are not animal based. Most cheese contains the 4th stomach of a ruminating animal to make the cheese clot.

Some enzymes in bread are made from a pig's pancreas.

I am getting more and more label conscious.

And I eat Vegan as much as possible.

Haggis

Anything that used to be an organ (tripe, liver, pig stomach, etc)

Anything raw, especially seafood (although I love seafood cooked:))

Haggis is sooo nasty!

1 sheep's lung (illegal in the U.S.; may be omitted if not available)
1 sheep's stomach
1 sheep heart
1 sheep liver
1/2 lb fresh suet (kidney leaf fat is preferred)
3/4 cup oatmeal (the ground type, NOT the Quaker Oats type!)
3 onions, finely chopped
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
1/2 teaspoon cayenne
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
3/4 cup stock

Stuffed into the Sheep's stomach - even thinking about it now makes me sick!

Well, I guess there is a reason that the British are not exactly known for high quality of their cuisine

I don't eat meat anymore but I grew up in Southern Germany and blood sausage was relished by a lot of Germans. You would get blood sausage with liver sausage and sauerkraut in many Bavarian restaurants YIKES!!! No one would catch me dead eating that stuff!! I stopped eating meat over a year ago but this has always been revolting to me.

The other thing is frog legs. We went to an Asian buffet style restaurant the other day and they offered frog legs.:eek::eek: No.flippin'.way!!
