Food

Bobbi, i didn't sight at you. I sighed because i have the same argument with most people. It's not you i sighed at. Pleaes bare in mind i'm not telling anyone to eat #### loads of meat or saturated fat. I'm saying when you look into it closely, and it does require further examination, all that glitters is not gold. It is a fact that a clogged artery is only 26% from saturated fat. You only need to look that up in any medical journal to see that. Now that in itself should say something. I'm not trying to convince anyone. I think that diet is very personal and one does not fit all. I'm very much in favour of metabolic typing for diet information. High carbs work well for some and low carb for others. Metabolic typing can help with finding out what works well for our own body.

I would rather eat butter any day of the week than a bagel or cookie. But only because it's real. It was not "invented". It is just milk, cream. Thats it. No other reason. I would much rather have the bagel or cookie mind you!

Something that is over looked all the time. Heart disease was on the increase and up from the 40's onwards, and still is, yet our diet is not lower in fat/animal fat. Yet still were dying. Now during this time processed food has increased 400%. Could that be the real reason for heart attacks?

Bobbi, you're very knowledgeable, and that shows. I appreciate your comments and take everything you say on board.

You're right, Wayne and I did have a knee jerk reaction to be perfectly honest. I actually eat butter and full fat sour cream and I snicker at fat free cheese because that's my idea of an oxymoron. I eat those foods very sparingly and probably stare more than I should when someone tucks into very fatty foods and slathers them on with gusto and a heavy hand. And the studies are inconclusive and contradictory at times. It's very confusing. But I can't increase my fat or protein intake because I'd have to give up carbs or gain weight and I live for carbs and thinness and have a possible fiber fetish, LOL! Don't get me started on processed foods! I just love the discussions we have here because no one listens to me in the real world. They have those "your lips are moving but all I hear is blah blah blah" moments. I'll try to be more open-minded in the future because as you say, different things work for different people is definitely true. One thing I do agree with, Nancy is quite a dish and very loverly indeed!

I would say after reading all this....I enjoy everybodies view but...I am with you Bobbi as I believe it takes some time for all the saturated and trans fat to do the damage, and also I don't believe for a second that many people have cut any of it out of their diets therefore heart disease, high cholestorol, and certain types of cancer are definitely on the rise...and Nancy...quite a cutie...:)...Carole

Bobbi, i know what you mean! lol ... i speak to anyone i can about fitness and nutrition and you think anyone cares? Nope. Its like you said my lips are moving but everyone's ears have closed up! Still, there loss, right!???!!!!!

As with everything in life, balance is good. Balance for me and balance for you is probably very different.

Bobbi, anytime you want a debate or "chat" about differing nurtition views, i'm your man!

I know, what is it with Nancy...she is just too cute and could make this man turn!
