I work out in my basement which has carpet. I would like to get those exercise tiles that you can fit together. Does anyone know if these can be put over carpet?

You can get them at Walmart for $17 per pack and it takes two pkgs if you want room for triples around the board and hi/lo segments. you can also get them at Academy but they are a little more i think.

jes:)

I bought them at Lowes for $16.99 a four pack. They work over carpet. I was going to invest in real aerobic flooring but am glad I didn't. This feels so much better and a utility knife is all I needed to make it fit my room. I bought about 10 packages and I have a huge amount of space to fly over.

I got mine at Target - I think I got 4 per pack about 15 or 16 bucks a pack. It's been a while.

Mine do not cover the entire floor so maybe that's the problem I had but they kept slipping on the carpet. I guess the key is in making it fit exactly to your room. (which I can't do because my room doubles as the computer/study room).

On the other hand, I had no trouble at all with the squares staying put on wood laminate flooring in our last house.

good luck!

I just thought about this, so thanks for posting it!

I am thinking of doing my workouts in the basement. Righ now I just have a cement floor. Does this type of "mat" work on cement? How does it not slip around? This would be for step and floor aerobics.

The other question I have is how it is to move on. Hard to explain.....I have sprained my ankles (yes both!) several times and am afraid this material might not be easy to move over. I'm afraid my shoe might stick a bit?

Thanks!

My boyfriend got these for my for Christmas. I love them..what adifference on my legs. I also work out in my computer room on carpet. I got 5 packages of 4 cause if like alot of room. It totally moves on the carpet and wasn't working too well. My boyfriend got these really thin nails with oarnge circular tops at home depot and nailed all around the outside into the floor and it works great!! The nails are really small so you can't see the holes when you take em out. Hope this helps.

They have a very smooth surface. i wear rykas and they don't stick. they are "rubberish", so if you do step and hi/lo in running shoes with the tread things on the bottom, they might stick. ???

I was thinking about getting some of these myself...but I had a piece of carpet padding left over from the new carpet we just had installed in our bedroom. It seems to be working pretty well, except it leaves pieces of itself on the rug. After that wears out...I'll definitely be getting some of those tiles. Or, see if the carpet store has some remnants they want to donate to my knees.
