floor vs standing leg work

Hi there. Are there any Cathe workouts that use just floor leg work instead of standing? I have to lay off of standing leg work for awhile due to quad growth, but I can't seem to find much in the way of floor work? TIA!

I would recommend The Firm Vol.1 (Super OLD & Cheesy, but the floor work cannot be beat!) Also, I have done and like "The Bar Method" by Burr Leonard (go to Amazon to find it) and it really gets into those little leg muscles underneath. Also if you are concerned with quad growth and bulky lower legs, I would not use weights and continue doing lunges and plie's and squats and leg presses :)

I am backing off of lower body weights right now - again - for the same reason......Also kickboxing and running really slim down the lower body...IMO....hope this helps!

Thanks Reba. I did Cathe exclusively for about 3 months and am surprised at putting on 2"! While I'm not jiggly, they are just too big and need some slimming. I have 2 Bar Methods and 2 Lotte Berks on the way to me. I also plan to use no weights for standing work, as you said; not completely skip it. I was just wondering if Cathe herself has any floor work. Doesn't seem like it, though. :(

The best Cathe floor work IMHO is the floor section on GymStyle Legs. There is also floor work in many of her other videos such as Legs and Glutes, etc. I like rotating the floor work with these two as well as Firm Volume 1 floor work. I also like Pilates leg work. Hope this helps.

I girls - I actually teach pilates twice a week and its great for stretching the legs.....Here is an idea:

You can always tack on the different floor work sections Cathe has at the end of The Bar Method or Pilates floor work to get that Cathe burn. I love the burn I get in PLB floorwork!

Also let me know how you like Lotte Burke, I have been tempted for months to buy them, and I also heard that Janiss Saffell has a FANTASTIC leg video called Better Buns and More, which I just might treat myself to and let you know how that one goes........for now I am adding more kickbox and NO weights with Cathe dvds for awhile to see how that goes, i also noticed and increase in size in my legs and was NOT happy - granted they are more toned, but now its time to slim those puppies down.....

Cathy, can you do the floor work in GSL as a premix?

Reba-we are in the same boat! My muscles have really developed and aside from a saddlebag issue, there is virtually no movement when I flex the quad. While this is kinda cool, lol, I wish they'd be muscly but about 2" smaller around!

Hi, no the floor work is not available as a premix but you can do a warm up and then advance to the first chapter of floor work and that's that. Clear sailing thru the stretch. Its a great floor routine but you will need a stability ball and a resistance band.

Don't forget the floorwork in PLB, in Legs & GLutes and in PS legs. If you did all of these in one day, it would be quite a workout!

Don't forget also Low max is a leg workout that doesn't use weights and could be excellent for your needs.

As is power walking, hill walking-hiking. My backpacking trips in the Summer slim my legs down like nothing else on the planet.
