Flab Blasters 1/15 check-in

Hello All;

Just starting today's thread as I have not seen it posted.

Today was another Timesaver for me - #1,those push ups are murder for me. I really need to work on those.

I'm still nicely sore in the butt area from #5. Someone asked which of the Timesavers is my favorite. Well so far it has got to be #'s 4 & 5 for the moment.
These two made me feel a slight DOMS the very next day. I like that feeling ...helps me know that I did work good.

I'll look in later to read everyone else's posts to this thread.

Just taking a quick moment to say hello to everyone and that I hope your day is going better than mine! I usually am working out right now - but I have my 5 year old home sick from school - she's been throwing up all morning - and my 3 year old has non-stop diarhea - and my husband is out of town until tomorrow night - so as you can imagine I am not having a fun day. I was so looking forward to Boot Camp today - I haven't given up hope yet - hopefully everyone will go to bed early tonight and I can workout this evening.
Life is never dull, is it?
Tracy

Oh Tracy, I feel your pain. I was in the same situation just a week ago. I hope your kids feel better fast.

ShyWolf, thanks for starting today's thread. Well, it was Cardio & Weights for me yesterday. The whole thing, not just the step premix. That was the first time I did the whole workout and boy, I didn't realize how great it was when you do all of it, not just the cardio.:) Today will be Power Hour, upper body only. My knees feel funky today, so I'll save legs for tomorrow, hopefully, when they feel better.

Brenda, my Zone habits are alive and well. I've been quite strict with myself since middle of last week. I think I kinda went low on the carbs last week because I was grouchy last weekend. The last few days have been better -- except for lunch. I was meeting our broker so lunch wasn't something I could measure. And I had Chinese, too. Oh well, onto the next meal... I'm trying to take care of this extra flab on my midsection, thanks to the holidays. I had the makings of a nice core last Nov., but when I switched to pure strength training with very little cardio, the core started looking... more like a tummy. By Christmas, it was a regular tummy; after New Year, it was just a flabby gut.:)

Work, work, I got work to do. Take care, everybody!

Hi everyone-
tody it looks like MIC and upper body since I took yesterday off... I haven't put on "real" clothes yet today so I'm not sure if I still feel like I put on 10 lbs. For my own piece of mind I think I may just stay in my workout clothes.

So Pinky, you found a big difference when you didn't add cardio? I'm always searching for the perfect combination between cardio, which I've started to love, and weights. Whatever I've been doing the last few days is not it- my midsection feels enormous!

Sabine, thanks for the dvd player reports... I put the house on a tight post-holiday budget but it will be something to look forward to in the future! How long are your parents staying with you?

Tracy, hope you get a chance to work out. Nothing worse than sick kids:-(

Talk to all of you later-
Brenda

>So Pinky, you found a big difference when you didn't add
>cardio?

Oh yes, although the difference didn't show right away. I think the season in which I chose to do strength training also helped make that difference. Even when I ate using the 40/30/30 Zone ratio, the flab simply built up. Anything in excess, even if it's healthy food, is stored as fat. So there you go... I HAVE TO do more cardio now, especially the crosstraining kind where you also do some weights. Which is why I did C&W yesterday and am planning to add Bootcamp, which I dread, to my rotations. All this, PLUS count my protein grams, number of meals per day and number of hours between meals.:)

Hi everyone. I did the TimeSaver #4 cardio, and the TimeSaver #5 workout. I was sweating. It was a good workout. Tomorrow I am going to do the PP premix w/ 3 sets. I LOVE to work my UB!!!! Monday I am going to start a Tank Top Arms Rotation. I hope to stick with it for a month. there is so many different workouts to use, I think I will be able too. the only thing I am going to keep in each week is on Weds. when you do just shoulders, biceps, and triceps, I will use the S&H Series. Talk to you tomorrow.

Things have calmed down a bit here so I thought I would re-check in. I was able to slip downstairs while everyone slept this afternoon and do Boot Camp. I was so amused when I read your comments, Pinky, because BC is one of my favorites and I couldn't imagine not doing it at least once a week! I guess everyone has their own likes. I was also very interested in your comments about the reaction of your stomach to the decrease in cardio in your life. I generally prefer weight training myself, but this past spring/summer I did a 10 week CTX rotation, and I have to say that I never looked better. I think my body likes all that cardio, even if my mind doesn't !
Lori- I would love to hear more details about your Tank Top rotation - are you doing one of the variations that is on the rotation board here, or did you make up one yourself? I was thinking of trying one of those later this spring - my sister is getting married at the end of May, and I am her matron (ugh! I hate that word) of honor and I have to wear a strappy little dress. Tell me what you are doing and definitely keep me posted about your results!
Shywolf - I think timesaver's #4 and #5 are SO tough! When I first got my BB dvd's it was about 3 weeks before Christmas, and for those two weeks I only did the Timesavers. I love that dvd, and I know there are going to be times in my life where it will be all I do. For some reason, right now (other than today) I have been having nice long stretches of uninterrupted time to workout.
Brenda - I laughed so hard when I read your comment about not wanting to put on real clothes and staying in your workout clothes instead. I have done from time to time when I just can't deal with the reality check that my jeans have to offer me.
Have a good night everyone and sleep well.
Tracy

Hi everyone,

My parents actually left yesterday morning so I did Timesaver #2 yesterday afternoon. Thursday is typically a day off for me and I contemplated doing a workout anyway after I got home from work, but, boy, am I tired (Thursday is my day teaching social skills in an elemetary school to 1st and 2nd graders). So I will take the day off and pick up with Timesaver #3 tomorrow and do 4 and 5 over the weekend.

Tracy- sorry to hear that you're little ones are sick! Hopefully it will pass quickly. That's great you were able to get your workout in during their down time.

Shywolf- is number 4 with the KPC footage? Do you get the DOMS from the kickboxing or from the weight work?

Brenda- I imagine that you look fabulous and are being unduly hard on yourself. I, too, sometimes like to hang out in my workout clothes. They are so comfortable and elastic anything can be so nice.

Hippahips- I hear you on needing to be balanced between cardio and weight training. I'm the opposite, though, in that I love cardio and sometimes feel like chucking the weight work. I also agree that CTX can yield some pretty impressive results.

Lorisax- nice to hear from you. Hope things are going well for you.

I think that's it.

Good night!

Hi Gals,
Seems like I am always last to check in! I guess thats it when I didn't workout until 9:45.
I didn't know if I was gonna workout today, timewise, but I got it in.I had a good nights sleep last night and I felt pretty good all day.I had to work both jobs today :-( I hate thursdays.
Anyhoo,I did a lighter workout tonight.I did a 25 min run, followed by power circuit.I had that video lost for a while but I found it when I was cleaning out my little girls play room the other day.I think it is one of my favorites in CTX cardio.I am going to do a ab workout now and hop in the shower.
HOpe everyone had a good day.
Lori:)
