Good Morning everyone and happy hump day!

This morning was PUB, the whole thing, and man, are my arms fried!!!! The shoulder and biceps segments just torture me!!! I'm starting to feel sore already and it's only been a couple of hours since I've been finished. I'm scared for what tomorrow morning will feel like.

I think it was Tracy who suggested we post where we are from. I live in Campbell, CA., a town right in middle of the famed 'Silicon Valley' in the southernmost point of the San Francisco bay.

Tracy- Other instructors you might enjoy are Christi Taylor (for hi/lo she is just simply one of the best), Kari Anderson (good dancy choreography), Franny Benedetto (good step and hi/lo with really good instruction and cueing), and maybe Rob Glick (very innovative step choreography in Amazing Step Styles and he's not too shabby to look at either;-) ). I pretty much don't do any other instructor for weight work. I find Cathe to be simply the best. As far as the next rotation, I think I'll see what Cathe has planned for February. If it looks good, I'll probably switch to that rotation. If not, I may dig up the Slow and Heavy rotation from last year and do that one.

Brenda- Haven't 'seen' you since the weekend. How are things with you?

Lorihart- I imagine that running on a treadmill vs. the pavement makes such a difference for the knees. Unfortunately my knees are so cranky that even a treadmill is painful. Congratulations on incorporating the running into your program. Did you do the 80 minutes during American Idol like you said you would?

For those back east and in the midwest, are things still as cold and icy today or are things a bit more tolerable?

Hellos to Pinky, Lorisax, Stacy MN, Joy, and Shywolf!

Hello all!
This is my day off. This morning i did Karen Voight's Yoga Stretch from the Yoga Focus DVD. Great hip stretch - not really yoga.

Yep Sabine, that PUB is a killer. I'm always sooo pooped by the time I get to bi's I just cannot manage with the 10-12-15-12-10. I can't get more than 2 reps out with 15#. I found that the last time I did PUB, it was my chest that was most sore, which suprised me.

LoriH - just curious about your 80" run. Does your tread tell you how far you went? I would love to run 80" but there's those pesky knees again. Funny the step adn hi/lo doesn't bother them at all. I guess its that repetitive pounding...

Tracy-I agree with Sabine's other instructor recommendations. (except that I can't speak for Franny) I also want to add that I have done some KV stuff and I rather like some of it. I have 1/2 and 1/2 and I don't think the weight work is hard, but I rather like the hi/lo cardio - its not really very hard not too high impact and it isn't too repetitious. Oh and I agree, Cathe has it all over the rest of the crowd on weight work.

I haven't been doing a formal rotation - The last two Cathe's totally burned me out - too much for this old bod. Rather I am focusing right now on increasing flexibility, heavier lower body work and not too much step.

How is everyone doing?

Hey all! I just finished doing PUB - Sabine, I am right with you on the soreness. I just love that workout - for some reason I just find myself enjoying it so much more than any other weight workout - it seems to just fly by and I really feel that the pyramid format lets me work my muscles to complete exhaustion. Those bicep curls -man oh man - they hurt SO good! I am still hoping to fit in a little cardio later tonight.

Tomorrow is PLB - I don't enjoy that one quite so much. I dread those leg lifts on the stability ball.

When I started out doing home workouts, I used Gin Miller, then I got some Karen Voight's. I used Streamline Fitness after all 3 of my pregnancies to get me going again - I love her yoga style stretches. I also have Yoga Sculpt by KV, but I haven't used it in a long time (I should - I definitely need to incorporate more stretching into my routine). I was given her Cardio Sculpt (?) and that 7 day DVD from my mom, but I ended up selling them on ebay - I really didn't like either of them. Do any of the other instructors have any workouts like Imax or Bootcamp? I like the athletic-type cardio stuff.

Well, I hope everyone else is having a good day (Pinky, Shy Wolf, LoriH and LoriS and Stacy and Brenda).
Take care and stay warm! (we got more snow last night - 3 days of school cancelled so far this week)

Hi Ladies,
Hows everyones day go'in???? Things are going good for me BUT I sat down and now I am getting lazy:-( And I have to go back to work:-( :-( (That one deserved a double unhappy face!)
Sabine-I certainly did watch American Idol while running.I find Tuesday night to be a bad night for t.v. So,I started my run with the last 15-20 min of Days of Our Lives.A show I haven't watched in years. Then I ran during AMerican Idol.I had to take a break to use the bathroom but it wsan't to long.
Joy-It does tell me how far I ran but its in miles and I am use to Kms.I run about 14kms in 70 min.I am probably running for 16kms.Last time I checked I was doing a 5min km,but by the time I get near the end of your run I am not running as fast.
Time flew by though with something funny to watch. Those poor people!
I did my workout earlier today.I did a weird workout to.
I did 1/2 of KPC,Imax2 Intervals6-10 and a 30min run.I was planning on doing upper body but of course,I ran out of time again.I am home by myself tonight,so you never know what ideas I may get in my head.
Chat to you soon,
Lori

Hey everyone... another rest day for me today. The knee's much better but I'm afraid to move it. My right shoulder is another story. After kickboxing with weighted gloves last Sun. I should've had just let my shoulders rest. Period. But Mon. I did the planks and pikes on the ball. I think that's what did it.

Sabine and Tracy, I would love to be sore with you from PUB. That's one of my all-time faves.:) But I'm learning a hard lesson right now...}(

On a positive note I found a pair of perfect shoes (Adidas this time) that was cleared out for $29.99 from $49.99. They fit my arches perfectly! And it was the LAST one on the shelf. Their light blue accents also match the ones on my new workout pants. I'm not a believer of destiny, but this sure feels like it.:)

It's sunshine and cold blasts of air for us here in Texas today. I heard on the radio it'll go down to the 20's tonight. I hope all of you are staying warm.

Hellos to Lorihart, Joy, ShyWolf, LoriSax, Stacy and Brenda. Did I forget anyone else? Hope not.

Later,
Pinky

Where has Brenda been???? I have not seen her around in a few days????

I hope everyone is having a good day. I did, besides it is about 15 degrees here, and snowing and blowing. YUCK. By the way, I live in MI.

I did KPC today. I love that workout. I also did ME abs. they almost killed me!!!!!

Well, talk to you tomorrow!!!!
Lori
