Flab Blaster - 1/31 weekend edition

Hi everyone-
I was just checking yesterday's posts. Pinky, I agree w/you regarding the preorder. I have so many options now for working out and some of them have gotten, dare I sat it, easy? I did SJP the other day and continued to do hi intensity during the last cardio because I felt like I hadn't gotten enough of a workout in (as opposed to MIC, Imax2 etc). I would definately get another Bootcamp-type workout, though. Great workout- did you do it yet Sabine?

On the other hand, I did ME yesterday and it kicked my fanny... I hadn't done it for a while and my upper body was spent! Today may be MIC or Imax to even out the weights.

Anyone come up w/a rotation for Feb (tomorrow!!)? I would be willing to do a combination hi cardio week/hi strength week alternation... let me know if anyone feels like doing one too and we'll work on it. (strength first week so we're not so bulky for Valentine's day?)

Hope everyone has a good weekend and try not to eat too much during the Super Bowl!

Brenda

Hello to everyone,

Today I branched out and did another 'virgin' workout, CIA 2304 Rock Steady Step with Seasun Ziegler. It was a nice long workout and the routine was pretty good. I wish the cueing was a hair better and that some of the moves were broken down more, but overall I can't complain. It gives me motivation for next time. One thing I will say is that the cover photo does no justice to Seasun. On the cover she frankly looks scary and anorexic. On the video she has a very nice personality and while thin, does not look scarily so. I'm glad I got this one in a trade because the cover totally made me not want to get this DVD.

Tomorrow I will finally tackle Bootcamp and I have to say that I am looking forward to the challenge. It looks like a tough workout and yet fun too. I'll report back when I'm through.

Brenda, I was hoping Cathe would have posted a February rotation by now so I could decide if it's something I would be interested in. I'm thinking of doing something like the following-

week 1-
Monday- S&H shoulders and legs
Tuesday- step cardio
Wednesday- S&H chest and back
Thursday- floor cardio
Friday- S&H biceps and triceps
Saturday- cardio intervals
Sunday- off

week 2-
Monday- Supersets
Tuesday- floor cardio
Wednesday- Push Pull
Thursday- step cardio
Friday- SJP
Saturday- cardio intervals or KPC
Sunday- off

week 3
Monday- PS Back, Chest, and Bis
Tuesday- step cardio
Wednesday- PS Legs and Abs
Thursday- floor cardio
Friday- PS Shoulders and Tris
Saturday- cardio intervals
Sunday- off

week4-
Monday- Muscle Endurance
Tuesday- floor cardio
Wednesday- MIS
Thursday- step cardio
Friday- Bootcamp or Cardio and Weights
Saturday- cardio intervals or kickboxing (maybe CTX kickboxing)
Sunday- off

I like the idea of alternating a heavy lifting week with a more endurance style lifting week. What do you think?

If we want to change the name of the check in for February, what does everyone think of 'Beating the winter blues check in'? Just an idea.

Gotta finish dusting!

Hi ladies, I know it's FEBRUARY, but I wasn't able to get online last night.

Brenda, it's great that your workouts are getting easier. Congratulations! Cathe's workouts are not a walk in the park.:)

Sabine, are you reading my mind or what? Your rotation is very similar to the one I have in mind. And just before going online this morning, I was thinking of a name for February, somewhere along the lines of "Winter Rebellion" or "Cold Weather Challenge" because it IS hard to get motivated when you're bombarded by constant blizzards.

Ugh, I fell off my clean eating wagon yesterday. None of my friends work out, so there are times when I am invited somewhere and can't refuse what's offered because I don't want to look like a killjoy. Yesterday my friend and I met at Chuck E Cheese, of all places, so we could talk while our boys (and husbands) could play. So we had pizza and cinnamon sticks, and needless to say, these hit me in a bad way. And I just couldn't help saying, "Man, I'll have to do extra cardio tomorrow!" So I got a funny look when I said that. I don't know about you all, but ever since I went on my "Cathe crusade", it has been almost lonely in a sense that in my circle, I'm the only one who works out and watches what I eat. It's hard enough eating clean on my own and even harder when I'm with other people. I try not to stress about it, but there are days when it gets to me.

Anyway, it's a new month and a new week, and I'm looking forward to another month of checking in. You guys are great!

Pinky

Oh Pinky, I know exactly what you mean. I have NO FRIENDS who eat clean, or qwork out like I do. My family is coming over tonight to watch the Super Bowl and it will be, "Can't you just not diet for one day?" Sometimes I get so mad. I am going to make a dip, LIGHT, and onion rolls. I am going to do my best to control myself. Sometimes you just go overboard, and that is ok, but I have had a few bad spells this week.

Anyway, I started a Slim Series Rotation yesterday. Just wanted to try something different for a week or two. Have a good weekend everyone.
Lori

Good Morning everyone,

Just got through doing Bootcamp for the first time. Man, what a great workout and fun too! Pinky, you must overcome your aversion to this workout and give it a try.

Pinky, we post at the same time, we have the same ideas for rotations, the same ideas about for the February name for the check in. Are you sure you're not my long lost twin or something:p ?!?!?

I hear what everyone is saying about non-exercisers criticizing you and/or your lifestyle choices or making you feel awkward. I seriously started working out in July 2003 and have made some really good progress in my fitness goals. Whenever my mom sees me she tells me that she's concerned I'm becoming anorexic and she says she doesn't want to support my fitness by buying me DVD's or whatnot for birthday gifts, etc. because she doesn't want to help me become too thin (this is where I get completely puzzled because has she seen the amount of food I can pack away?!?). My sister is the only one who is supportive because she is athletic (runs and swims).

Lorisax, how are you enjoying the SS videos? Would love to hear your comments about them as I am curious.

Who's everyone rooting for in the Superbowl?

Has anyone preordered yet? I might not preorder this weekend but will probably do it sometime before the next price jump. I'm glad SNM posted more info. about the workouts on the order page. I'm intrigued.

Time to eat breakfast. Have a great morning everyone!

Hi all, just checking in again before I retire for the night. Tomorrow's gonna be a stressful day, I can feel it in my bones, and I know I probably won't be here 'til tomorrow evening, if I can make it at all. We're closing on a townhome that we'll turn into a rental property. I've been through this before, and I know the kind of stresses that may come up.

Anyway Sabine, I am amused by our "psychic connection".:) That twin idea feels good, especially that I've always felt separate from my environment for as long as I can remember. I think it comes with being the only girl growing up with three boys. And now I'm growing old with a husband and a son. Get the pattern here? Testosterone! Makes me want to tear my hair out!}(

Lorisax, I saw your thread regarding the negative way non-exercisers may see people like us who are into fitness. I feel more comfortable with you guys, so allow me to chime in here. I'm one of those people who can ignore most bad behavior/negative asides. It's not that I'm a "coward" like someone in this forum suggested a few months back. I simply choose to behave in a civil and gracious manner. I don't like to fuel fires and I'm one who believes that paying attention to snide remarks that really don't matter a whit to my life in the whole scheme of things is tantamount to going down the other person's level. BUT this doesn't mean that I'll simply let someone have a say and put one over me. SO I'm with those who told you to say something plain and pithy, along the lines of, "This doesn't concern you. I appreciate it if you get your nose out our butts." And that's it. If the other person says something after that, I'll leave it alone. I've had my say and that's it. BUT... there's a BUT to the former BUT. My husband's family will be visiting in a couple weeks and will be staying with us for more than a month. This is a family who thinks their son/brother/nephew/grandson is too good for me. I know things will be said regarding my exercise routine and eating habits. Now girls, there IS a brand new baseball bat in the guest room and I've made the decision that if these people make it hard on me while they are under MY roof... well, that bat will be put to good use. And if by chance I drop it, my fists and legs will do just fine. Why do you guys think I've been doing more kickboxing lately?:p There IS a limit to my civility and I've punched some boys' faces (ohmigosh, please don't hate me for admitting this) in my childhood, just the way my brothers taught me, when these boys insulted me on the playground. You know that singer Pink? I see myself in her. My younger self. But I've changed so much since becoming a mom, and I actually LIKE this change.

So there you go... I don't know if this helps you but I still hope it does, if only to release some tension by talking about it.

I'm thinking of doing PUB tomorrow. (I did C&W today, LL yesterday.) Hope I can get it in.

Have a good week everyone,
Pinky :)

Hey everyone- Thought I'd just drop by to say a quick "hello". I had a lazy, lazy weekend (I didn't workout either day) and I'm feeling yucky now. The next two weeks are going to be rough for me - the in laws are here to stay - Pinky, I was wondering where you bought your baseball bat, because I may be needing one myself!!

I am uncertain what I am going to be doing rotation-wise. The Feb. rotation didn't really get me too excited, and I know that the next two weeks are going to be tough for fitting in workouts (since my space has been invaded!) so I think I am going to concentrate on weightlifting. I think alternating strength and endurance would be fun, does anybody have a plan as to what they are going to do?

Wish me luck in keeping patient and pleasant with my visitors!

Tracy

Hi All;
Somehow my long winded post here went by bye.
I'll 'talk' with y'all later on today.
On tap for today is C&W's after my doctor's appointment this morning.
