I wish stinkin' Dish Network carried Fit TV! :(

A question to anyone who has watched this channel: When do they show commercials during the workout and how many? Just curious!

Emy yes they do and lots, however you can tape the show then forward over the commercials. IMO not worth using over buying the DVD but still a great way to try before you buy.

SNM, some questions about "Cardio Blast"

First before I say another word, WOO HOO! :7 The May 1 marathon day is REALLY exciting and I am genuinely thrilled for Cathe to gain this (IMHO) long-overdue widespread recognition!

Having said that, I offer some food for thought, SNM.

"Cardio Blast" -- Why that title? It's misleading, I think. :( If you look at the lineup of what is included (even on May 1), there's a LOT of strength and endurance weight work during the day that Cathe herself does not consider real cardio in any way, shape or form. The title "Cardio Blast" thus not only misleads, but I think is unfair to Cathe. This title wouldn't draw in a potential viewer who, let's say, already runs for her regular cardio but might be interested in learning more about weight training and might LOVE the Cathe strength and endurance workouts that FitTV is broadcasting as part of this series. Even the person who's just casually browsing channels on a TV screen guide looking at program titles could very well glide right by YET another "cardio" show, when who knows -- they might stop and click that remote for a look at a weight-training show -- and become a new Cathe-ite.

A related point -- on FitTV's website, when you go from the main page to the link where FitTV's programming is described, they have every type of workout other than yoga lumped into the heading "Cardiovascular Programming." This shortchanges Cathe's offerings as well as those of other instructors, too (though none quite so much as Cathe). If I were searching for weight training programs I might skim right past the page on "Cardiovascular Programming" and therefore I'd miss Cathe.

And, by the way, on the "Meet the Hosts" link on FitTV's main page, notice that the link still takes browsers only to the schedule for Peak Performance, and ignores the schedule for Cardio Blast. I don't even think Cathe's on Peak Performance anymore, is she?

All that said, I wonder how many people out there might try to DO the whole May 1 marathon, or as much of it as they could do??? Bet we have a few die-hards here who might be tempted. ;-)

RE: SNM, some questions about

Hi Kathy! Yes, I agree with your points. I have wondered about this too. I plan on respectfully bringing this to their attention when the time is right. They seem to be working on quite a bit right now. Take Care:)

Please clarify the times.....different time zone

Cool. However I want to clarify the time. You say 8 a.m. ET/PT. I am in the PT time zone which is 3 hours behind ET. If it's shown at 8 a.m. ET, that would be 5 a.m. for me. Or if it's REALLY going to be at 8 a.m. PT also, then it's tape delayed in my area, right? Do you mean 8 a.m. ET/5 a.m. PT, or 8 a.m. ET and then when 8 a.m. rolls around in the PT zone, that's when it comes on?

RE: Please clarify the times.....different time zone

Hi san4850! Obviously I'm not Cathe, but I believe that probably means that the entire marathon will run beginning at 8:00 a.m. in each time zone. But if I were you I'd send that exact question to FitTV's customer service department. I'll bet they'll be very responsive -- they want viewers to find them! :)

RE: Thank you Cathe!

:D Oh,this must be exciting for you Cathe to see yourself on T.V. all day long with your own marathon! CONGRATS from me to you!!!!!

So if the show is an hour long, and there are tons of commercials, I gather that they edit the workouts and don't show them in their entirity? Again, I'm just curious!

You are correct. The workouts are not shown in their entirety, but you still get a great workout. Just an FYI, the editing is terrible. For example, on Legs & Glutes they edited out the warmup. You start the workout with leg presses. On some of the step workouts, instead of cutting for commercials in between step segments, they'll wait until Cathe has started a new step segment for maybe a 1-2 minutes and then they'll break for commercials. Etc.
